Offered is this beautiful, 12-piece, coralene-enhanced glass set (6 glasses and 6 stems), made by Moser. The set is in good condition. Unsigned - almost certainly made by Moser, based on the coralene decor (please refer to Baldwin's book for similar coralene-decor Moser items).

This is a finely hand-carved 19th century netsuke depicting a Horse outfitted with an elegant saddle that appears standing on a base that functions as a Seal. The seal shows traces of ink. An opening in the middle of the seal serves as chimney himotoshi. It has a rich patina and shows a luster and smooth surface. Netsuke measures 0,42 inches (1.1cm) wide, 1.34 inches (3.4cm) wide, and 1.15 inches (2.9cm) tall. It is in excellent preserved condition.

A FINE 16TH CENTURY PERSIAN JAMIYA, with doubled edged curved steel blade, the carved ivory handle with Arabic inscription "Made by Haji, Enthronement of the King Cumar Farug the Second 986 AH," which equates to the year 1578. This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France circa 1800. It is unmarked. There are incised lines in the porcelain. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The cup is 2 3/8 inches high. The set is decorated with knots of stylized flowers in vibrant colors. There are bands of tooled gilding in leaf and flower patterns. This set of dolls was made for Japanese Boy’s Day. It comes from one of Japanese folklores, Peach Boy, Momotaro. Momo is translated to peach and Taro (ta-ro-o) is a common name for boys. Offered is this rare cranberry-glass pillow vase, hand-decorated with a marsh scenery, made by Moser around 1900. The vase is 7 1/2 inches (19 cm) long, 6 1/2 inches (16,5 cm) high and 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) wide. In good condition (expected, age-appropriate wear to gold and a small rim flea-bite - see last picture). Unsigned, but guaranteed to have been made by Moser - the scalloped feet are a hallmark of Moser pillow vases (for reference: see Baldwin's book on the Klabin Moser glass collection).

Antique Japanese pair of Kutani ware porcelain fu-dogs. Each figure is glazed brown with green curling mane and tail. They stand on a yellow and brown glazed rectangular platforms. One has an open mouth while the other has a small horn. Fu-dogs or Foo-lions are fierce protectors but are also playful and energetic.

An antique Japanese Ko Tansu (personal storage chest) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. Hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite style handles. Features 6 drawers of varying sizes, a lift-out door and a hinged door behind which 2 small drawers are hidden. Each handle has a metal backstop called Atari that made a knocking sound and functioned as a security precaution if the Tansu were opened or moved.

This is a fabulous Victorian sterling ladies’ card case for that special collector, marked "sterling and "W&H" for the well-known New York silversmiths Wood & Hughes. This antique traditional Chinese pocket size opium scale comes in its original wooden case. Dating to the Qing Dynasty, the case contains all the original implements needed to weight gold and other precious metals and/or opium: a brass pan, a weight, and an ivory balance beam marked with 2 different weight calibration gauges. The wood case measures roughly 7 inches long and the ivory beam is 6 inches long.

A beautiful example of a Hakeme style bowl, this one quite rare as it was made around 200 years ago by the son of the founder of the Dohachi line of potters. Traditionally decorated using a brush made from rice straw, a white slip is applied to the darker clay body with a wide sweeping stroke to achieve the effect seen here.
