This blue & white porcelain box, complete with its original cover, of octagonal form was made during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. Each facet of both the box and cover are decorated with a bird, flower, precious object or auspicious symbol. Both inner and outer surfaces are coated in a finely-crackled glaze.

Diameter 9.25 cm. It is in very good condition with minor surface wear and no repair or restoration.

By cute-looking spout and simple-form wings, the porcelain pot was applied with glass-sheen glaze all over the surface.

Antique 16th century Turkish Ottoman gold gilt-copper (Tombak) Islamic Amulet case (Ta'wiz-Muska) of hexagonal cylindrical form the bottom part adorned with engraved ornament. The upper part with two small integral rectangular suspension loops, allow the amulet to be suspended with a silk cord from the neck. originally held a Qur’anic verse.

According to the previous owner, this amulet case was found before World War II on the Mohacs battlefield in Hungary.

This special box is from a spectacular Cloisonne collection and acquired almost 50 years ago.
