Porcelain Chinese figurine of Tsao Kuo Chiu, who is a patron saint of theatrical profession. Richly decorated in polychrome enamels, Tsao Kuo Chiu is one of the 8 Immortals. We have never seen a theatrical monkey at the base, but he is a nice addition to this very unique 19th century Chinese figurine. Marked CHINA on the bottom, we are dating him Circa 1900. In excellent condition, he measures 7.5 inches tall.

Chinese Song dynasty Longquan celadon twin fish bowl with lotus petal at the outer wall. 13 cm diameter, 4,7 cm high. Bowl chipped on restoration condition.
Mid 19th century Chinese blue and white ink pan (or box) is 2 inches tall, 3 ¾ inches long and 2 ¾ inches wide. The entire body is hand painted with pattern style of clouds, branches and flowers. The box is evenly divided into two parts. From the remains of pigment, it seems the box was used as a red ink (cinnabar) dish. It is in great condition.
Chinese Monochrome Sancai Hexagonal Dragon Vase, Ca. 1920, 7" high, 4" wide, 3" deep, with Monochrome sancai high relief molded Dragon Vase, high relief Dragon on both side under broad leaf border around the neck. Impressed mark "China" in English on the glazed bottom, the condition is good, no damages.
Antique Japanese Noh mask of the O-beshimi fierce deity, or mythical tengu. "Beshimi" means "mouth clamped shut". This mask is hand-carved from kiri wood, and inside you can see the chisel marks left behind by the artist. There are visible traces of white gesso in the crevices of the face, which was used as a filler to cover the wood grain. Edo period, 19th century

This hand painted blue and white statue of standing Hotei is a Taisho period (1912~1926) product. It is 6 ¾” high, 4” wide and 3” thick. This very decorative piece comes from resp. was in use in an old temple in Klungkung, east Bali. The inscription to the unglazed base of the piece could be associated with this provenance.

This glass covered jar was produced in Europe. It has the style of the 1870s period but we are not certain of the manufacturer. The jar is 5 3/4 inches in diameter and 3 1/4 inches high. The glass is hand blown with a swirl of opalescent color entwined with powder blue. You can feel the ribs in the glass with your fingers. Antique Japanese large onigawara roof tile end cap. This beautiful tile was made in the toukigawara method with a hollow interior. It once graced the roof of a large building, perhaps a temple or an important house. It has a raised Tomoe crest (mon) in the center which is surrounded by wonderfully three dimensional swirling clouds and topped with it's own roof. Meiji Period (1868-1912).

An unusual Arita porcelain tea pot styled after a cast-iron example. The textured surface is described as “nail head” when it appears on an iron tetsubin. Late 18th ~ early 19th century.
The Shibata Museum compendium has a pot of similar shape and cartouche, no nail head texture or iron dressing but with additional cobalt decoration, item#3782. 1780~1820.
This example is approximately 17.5 cm high. The handle has a very obvious stress crack but no other problem...

Cup has acid-etched frieze depicting sailor-suited, flag-holding, all-American boy with exotic coevals in native dress relegated to background. Imagery enhanced with verse: “Little Indian, Sioux or Crow, little frosty Eskimo, little Turk or Japanese—Oh! Don’t you wish that you were me?”

Old ritual dagger ("phurpa"), beautifully carved to represent, from top to bottom, a protruding animal head, three deities busts, a stylized "vajra", and finally a stylized "makara" (water dragon) head on the three-blades point. A bowl with rounded side, decorated at the exterior with an all over pattern of a white on blue Crane among Lotus pattern. Late Ming 17th century Fujian Zhangzhou ware or they called it Swatow family. Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery Cabinet (16th Century)
A pottery model of a tall wooden cabinet made during the 16th century (c.1550 - 1600). Made from a hard creamy-white pottery and coated in a green glaze that has, in places, acquired a silvery iridescence, a result of very long exposure to moisture. The details suggests this is a model of a cabinet that would have had two opening doors above which are three drawers.

Attributed to South Staffordshire, England, Possibly Bilston, late 18th century. The “gingham finish” was principally produced in this area. By placing a piece of cambric over solid ground color and then applying white enamel this finish was achieved. The three dimensional decoration was also found in the area. It was normally created by applying several layers of enamel. In addition, the unusual heart shape has been found in other Bilston boxes.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Heufel Dresden in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set has borders of cream and bands of crimson red trimmed with elaborate raised gilding. The cup has a scenic reserve of a garden with lovers. It is framed in raised gold. This cup and saucer is decorated in the Vienna style.

This bowl is unique and exceptional in the sensivity of its painting which to some extent echoes the decoration of the very rare and highly admired Kangxi Imperial Mark and Period "Birds-Bowls". This brush pot displays shallow carving with incising utilizing the natural “skin” of the bamboo to depict a scene of tortoise, cranes, and pine as a wish for longevity. The carver's name is incised beneath the pine tree. It is in good condition and has a nice patina. There is some wear to the interior from use. Acquired in London in the mid 1980s.

Small brass medallions with auspicious flowers and birds have been soldered on to the box, and to the front are two enamel and copper medallions with cranes.
