This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by a Paris decorator around 1870 or earlier. The saucer has a diameter of 5 ½ inches and the cup is 1 ¾ inches high. The ground color of this set is deep cobalt blue. The cup has a reserve on the front with a Watteau scene of lovers in a garden. There are two scenes of landscapes on the saucer. A very good jasper ground glass paperweight by St. Louis. The sole decoration is the pink and white jasper cushion which completely fills the dome. The glass is heavy and nicely clear. The polished concave bottom has relatively wide basal ring.

Elegant sterling silver footed basket with flaring, reticulated sides and a hoop handle. The swirling pattern of the piercing echoes the basket's scalloped rim. The top of the handle has a reserve for a monogram, but was never monogramed. The bottom has Durgin's early hallmark and the retailer's mark "Hodson, Kennard & Co." Many of Durgin's earlier products were sold through such upscale Boston retailers.

Mold number 913 size C with incised decoration of squares in a band at the shoulder of the vase. Vase is a yellow clay body, covered in a green to red Butterfat matte glaze. A nicely decorated document box featuring red and black grain painting, the edges with yellow and green striping.

The box is 13 1/4 inches in length, 7 1/4 inches in depth, and 6 1/2 inches tall. Overall condition is excellent, with no cracks or breaks, and virtually all of the original, unrestored paint is present. The lock and hinges are original and in fine shape. There is the normal amount of wear along some of the box edges.

A large deep dish with hand painted blue lines and blue hand applied stencil flowers, roses in the center and flowers (possibly peony) and foliage around the rim. Early Doccia (circa 1750) had stenciled blue flowers on both maiolica and porcelain.
