This is a rare well modeled and detailed 19th century porcelain elephant by Samson. It is based upon an outstanding 1680 Japanese Kakiemon model, which, in turn, was derived from Chinese prototypes. The piece is eleven inches in height and is enameled in red and cobalt.

Condition: Excellent, no chips, hairlines or repairs.

A nice Bohemian mercury tapered columnar-form mercury glass vase, the sides engraved through a bright red flashing to the silver. The pattern depicts a bird nesting among exotic flower and foliage. The design is accented with applied white lines. The silvering is not in as good condition as one would hope, but the very bright red flashing and the generous size more than makes up for it!

Spectacular and extremely rare Giant size antique Buddha Figure dressed in royal robes, lacquer intricately inlaid with inset flat glass/mirror mosaics backed with colored foil and further decorated with moulded relief work forming beautiful spirals. The Buddha seated in "bhumisparshamudra" (subduing Mara), his left hand rests palm upward, on his lap, and the right hand rests on his right knee, calling the Earth to witness...

This magnificent handcrafted Art Nouveau figural brass letter opener is the nicest one I have seen, with intricate detailed "Spirit of Life" maiden wearing a flowing, draped gown, one arm resting on back of head, the other catching her windswept gown, standing on a base of sinewy bark surrounded by clover, circa 1890's, very heavy. Measurements: 10 in. high. Condition is near perfect.

Can't duplicate this original Victorian set of large nickel plated newspaper cutting scissors and letter opener with matching sheath in the style of WMF, circa 1900, the handles and sheath of beautifully cast with Art Nouveau style; blades are steel-cut and marked "Schnefel Bros, Germany;" condition: sheath case and handles in excellent condition, some minor nicks; measurement:, 11 3/4 inches in sheath. Letter opener- 8 3/8 in high.

A pair of pressed glass horn epergne or car flower vases from the 1910 era. Made with a loop for suspension from an epergne, a table decorative centerpiece, or a mount in an automobile, these 6-3/4" long unsigned vases measure 2-1/2" across the opening; they are in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs...

This is not your typical cloisonne. The beautiful Chinese vase is one of the best quality that I have personaly owned in many years. Notice the 8 graceful cranes,chrysanthemums and other flowers. The colors are bright. I have been told that this vase is pre 1900. THERE IS NO DAMAGE ON THIS ITEM. IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION and sits on a wooden rosewood base.

A delightful and rare Victorian tartanware egg timer covered in an unidentified red, green, black and yellow. The top and bottom plates are in an unusual horseshoe shape. The posts are covered in tartan, as well. Exposed areas of wood are ebonized. The tartan is not named, and the piece is marked “Made in Scotland”. The timer measures exactly 3 mins.

Origin: Scotland, ca. 1895. Condition: very good, light wear to edges and varnish, but no major scuffs or missing paper...

A pretty Victorian maple swing-handle sewing basket, the interior lined with colorful pleated silk plaid. The bottom, upper frame and handles are constructed of maple, and the spindles forming the sides of the basket are ebonized.

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, except for a narrow age split in the wood at one end of the upper frame. Size: 8-1/8" x 5-3/4" x 9" high.

Rare Chinese export carved wood tea caddy in the form of an eggplant with leaf form screw lid. Early 19th century.

A delightful and very rare Staffordshire ironstone puzzle jug by Elsmore & Forster. The sides are decorated with colorful scenes of a cockfight below the lip, while the sides feature large images of the famed circus clown “Cashmore”. The foot, rim and handle are highlighted with red stripes. The interior has a hidden siphon system that causes the contents to spill when the jug is tipped, unless the pourer covers the small air hole on the inside of the handle...

This is an outstanding American sterling silver repousse napkin ring in the style of Kirk although the mark is too worn to distinguish, ca 1880, heavily repousse with centered monogram GLJ, Wt. 18.9g; Condition is excellent; Measurement: 1 5/8 in. diam. x 1 in. high.

A pretty Victorian mercury glass vase in tapered and ribbed columnar form with a foot. The body has a matte surface decorated with a pretty bouquet of blue and white flowers. The vase has a nice small size that is not easy to find.

Origin: Bohemia, ca. 1870. Condition: excellent, a tiny area of oxidation near the base of the bouquet, no plug. Size: 6-1/8” tall.

A 19th century Rococo revival silver plated ornate wine bottle stand/carrier c1875-80. This two bottle stand has a Gothic railing surrounding the bottle section, and a handle adorned by the three Graces with birds on the handle. The base has naturalistic slightly rococo flowers and leaves. It measures just over 12 inches in height, and the base measures 12" x 5-1/8". The handle can be unbolted from the base for easier polishing...

The Simpson Hall Miller repousse "roses" sugar and creamer have the number 170 on the base of each.

The open sugar has a mouth opening of 3 1/4", the creamer 2 1/2". The open sugar is 2 3/4" tall, the creamer2 1/8".

They are in good condition.
