Gorgeous French Belle Epoque Rococo 950 silver and crystal decanter, ca 1890. Crystal baluster bowl with acid-etched leafing and flowering branches and wavy bands. Silver mounts with dynamic wave and scrollwork, shells, and leaves. Cover hinged with fish-mouth spout and scallop shell thumb rest. High-looping leaf-capped handle. Four scroll supports. Probably, our finest and surely the heaviest silver icon, we've had for a while! Russian Orthodox icon with an amazing wrought and chisseled Oklad, dating 1871.

This is NOT the usual foliage thin silver sheet oklad but a a heavy thick hammered and chisseled silver oklad in a baroque style with relief heads in each corner and weighing several 100s of grams in .84 silver. Fine gilt to the details. The icon itself with four saints and Christ with halo in the sky...

Oklad hallmarked with the 84, city arms of Saint Petersburg, Cyrillic makers mark A.G.

This figurine was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg c. 1910. It has the impressed shield, printed mark and artist’s initials W N for Entwurf Wilhelm Newhauser. They are pictured in the book “Die Tierplastik her Nyympherburger Porzellan" by Gerhard P. Woeckel. The group measures 12 inches high, 8 3/4 inches deep and 7 inches wide. The birds are well modeled with just a hint of color for their faces and to give definition to feathers. It is true to form, made in the Art Nouveau era...

This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in 1913. It has the first quality impressed shield colored blue and printed mark on the bottom. Niki is incised on the front of the base. This piece is pictured on the cover of “Nymphenburger Moderne” by Alfred Ziffer. It measures 12 1/2 inches tall, 9 inches long and 7 inches deep.
