This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by KPM Royal Berlin in the late 19th century. It has the blue scepter and red orb on the back. It measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The porcelain is molded with a basket weave border and curved ribs. Pink wild roses decorate the center of the plate. The painting is the excellent quality KPM is noted for. The border is cream colored with lacy gilded accents. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain plate was produced in Limbach Germany, by Gotthelf Greiner between 1772 and 1787. It has an under glaze blue mark with a star. The plate has a diameter of 9 inches. It is indented about 1/2 inch toward the middle making it deep in the center. The border of 1 1/2 inches is reticulated or pierced. The piercing was done with a knife by hand. I have seen these attributed to Salviati however, on a recent trip to Venice I showed these to an antique dealer specializing in antique Venetian Glass and he showed me some documentation with images that confirms these to indeed be Fratelli Toso, made in 1890. A fine glass cocktail shaker by Hawkes. The glass blank is blown in an optic paneled style and highlighted with gilding at the neck. The body is beautifully enameled with a colorful rooster and the reverse side is engraved with the recipe for a "Bronx" cocktail. The stopper is finished with floral intaglio engraving.
