Large pewter claret jug. Highly ornate Art Nouveau pewter raised with blue-tinted reservoir glass, showing frieze. A vine and leaf decoration with figures overlay the jug. Possibly made in Germany. Late 19th. Century.

A Large Victorian Silver Plate Fish Slice Set with Ivory Handles, by Atkin Brothers, Sheffield, circa 1880. The Ivory Handles are slightly mellowed and have age splits in each handle. The Fish Knife is a large 13" and the Serving Fork is 10.5", both with etching and piercing. Th knife is signed HA EA FA, for Atkin Brothers. Overall in excellent condition.

Dating 1869 is this lovely English dessert set by Henry Wilkinson & Co of Sheffield. Fully hallmarked this great find for the admirer of fine antique Sheffield silver plate. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Fork measures 7 inches long, knife is 8.5".

A very nice small-size silver plate wine taster in the classical style. The bottom features the typical convex bottom surrounded by concave "godrons" adn "cupules." intended to create high and low spots to better appreciate the color of the wine as light is reflected through it. The open shape also allows the bouquet to develop quickly so the wine can be tested easily. The snake handle is generally seen on tastevins from the region of Bourgogne...

This is the perfect toasting goblet to ring in the holidays. Bohemian, hand blown, deep green colored crystal, intricately engraved with four gilt holly bough pattern, gold banded trim, in the style of Josephinehutte, c.1885. Measures 7 3/4"H; Condition: excellent with slight gilt wear to top of rim.

Stoneware jar in the form of an orange with the registry mark for F & R Pratt of Fenton for 1878 on the base. 4 inches (10.2 cm) tall and 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide.

Condition: no chips cracks, hairlines or repairs. Minor staining and some tiny areas of paint loss.

A 19th Century Staffordshire Earthenware Jug depicting Admiral Nelson. There is a similar example in the collection of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 28.6cm (11.25inches) high.

Lovely Rozenburg porcelain plaque with a Dutch genre scene, circa 1889. Signed Rozenburg den Haag, LS in the lower right, and n. Artz in the lower left. A large, heavily potted English pitcher with an applied strap handle. All of the strong floral decoration is handpainted except for the blue flowers which where the paint was stamped on with a cut sponge. Though it could be earlier the later date of circa 1880 is conservative...

A large ceramic charger with a yellow and black rim enclosing an elaborate scene depicting a version of, “The Toilet of Venus.” Participants include a partially clad Venus, plenty of putti, satyrs, a couple of unclad men and a pair of panthers. Venus is the center of attention. For a very rough comparison, Francesco Albini depicted the subject in 1621 in a painting now at the Louvre. This piece dates to the late 19th century...

Late 19th Century 18 carat gold pocket watch set. The set contains two original pieces, the pearlized pocket watch and matching Chatelaine which is decorated with pearls and emeralds. This delicate set was crafted for the ladies.
Chatelaine (useful ornament supporting watches, watch keys, seals, thimble cases, an other etuis, worn hanging from a belt).

A large and rare antique, circa 1850, French casein tortoise shell casket with bronze ormolu framework featuring a working lock with key. The casein was applied over mahogany or rosewood creating a sturdy chest. Inside is the original silk lining perfectly intact. This chest is superbly crafted and very well preserved, there is just a little wear on the top and wear to the gold gilt on the bronze ormolu consistent with its age...

Beautiful jasperware wall plaque of a winged lady with a shephard's staff entitled "Pastorale" and signed Stephan Finding and dated 1886. It has very high relief, and the detail is exquisite. This beautiful plaque is one of a pair. The other is also on this web site. They each measure 13" tall x 8" wide in the frame, and 10 1/2" tall x 6" wide without. They are in wonderful condition. A blue and white hand painted Canton oval serving dish with a rain cloud border under stars and an outward turned rim decorated with lines of rain. The interior with the usual Canton scene including bridge, pagodas, sailboats and islands in the distance. The bottom unglazed and showing good orange peel from the firing. 8 7/8 inches (22.5 cm) long, 6 ¾ inches (17 cm) and 1 ½ inches (4 cm). Circa 1850.

A large double Irish chain pieced quilt with the chain consisting of red squares enclosing yellow ones on a white ground. The back is turned over the top to form the edge. The red border quilted with swags encloses a white border with a running feather wreath. Inside are red saw teeth and then the chains across the field. Cotton seeds visible through the back side. The white squares enclosed by the chain are quilted with a number of different circular motifs...

Fine Childs Plate, the centre printed with the name John, the finely moulded border decorated with bright Pratt type colours. The base impressed ROGERS. C1840. Diameter 5 1/4" (13.4 cm). Condition: excellent, there is some staining to the underside.

This is a Beautiful Pair of Porcelain Figural Candelabras. These candelabra depict a young lady and young man in a lovely garden scene. We believe these candelabras to date to around the late 1800's. These candelabras measure 21" tall and are in very good condition. I will be happy to send more photos.

A very well designed and executed eight point Star of Bethlehem pieced cotton quilt with excellent quilting. The pieces around the edges are white with very small pale blue printed sprigs. The pieces for the star are all solid colors. The backing is printed green cotton in a small pattern. Quilted with feather wreaths in the corners and partial ones between the points of the stars. All of the sewing is done by hand. 72 inches square...

A nicely made large quilt in the triple Irish chain pattern from the late 19th century. The chains made of small squares of yellow, red and green pattern printed cotton. The double red border is of the same red printed pattern. There are seeds visible in the filling between the backing and the jam side...

A large (15 5/8 inch diameter) tile of birds and flowers enclosed within a blue border inside black lines. The tile has the usual thick transparent crackled glaze, muted colors and off-white tone. 15 5/8 inches (38 cm) diameter.

Condition: no cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some very small chips on the edge, the biggest is under the glaze so it must have happened before firing. Strong supports for hanging on a wall.

Nice flowing design as the stem for the flowers grows in a counter clock...

A double Irish chain quilt with printed cotton fabrics of red and green chains against a background of black spots on white cotton. The front is turned over to the back to make the edge. The quilting is simple diagonals.

Condition; excellent, never washed.

Good colors and pleasing design makes this an attractive quilt.

A striking quilt in a deep red and black. Most importantly the quilt has, stitched on its reverse, "Sarah amd Anne Hoit, Burlington, VT 1838". It also has, stitched at a later time, "A Present to O. Sherman 1881". It is very uncommon to find a quilt, especially such an early one, with such complete information as to the maker, place and date. The piece is approximately 82" square, with the cutouts being 16" square.

A unusual brass tea caddy from the Imperial Romanov era. These boxes are much more frequently seen as rectangular shapes rather than ovals. The hinged lid is decorated with an ornately detailed appliqué of the imperial Romanov double-headed eagle. The interior is tin-lined in the traditional Russian style. Heavy brass letter opener with a fully repoussed handle. There is a face on both sides at the end of the handle. It is made to look like a barbed dagger or sword. It measures approximately 9 inches long and at its widest, it measures 1.25 inches. The overall weight is 152.5g. It most likely dates to the late Victorian era; it is unmarked and in very good condition.

A Blue and White Staffordshire Creamer or Milk Jug, possibly by Enoch Wood; from the mid-19th century. Dimensions; 6" wide x 2.75" deep x 4" high to handle. Slight wear on bottom and handle from usage.

Twelve eight pointed stars made of cotton printed in orange with small yellow clover-like shapes arranged in rows of twos and threes with alternating white squares all enclosed in three bands of the same printed fabric. The outside band is turned over the edge to join the white cotton backing. Cotton seeds visible in the stuffing. All hand stitched. Very good quilting with running feathers and cross stitching over much of the surface. There is an embroidered, “E” on the back in one corner. 7...

A pieced cotton quilt in a pattern called, “Goose on the pond” probably from the mid-West and made in the late 19th century. The pattern is made up of pattern printed blue, orange and white fabrics. The same orange fabric is used throughout, but the blue and white are made up of different prints. The quilting is diagonal lines. Cotton seeds in the stuffing visible through the back. Front edge turned to the back. All hand stitched. 72 inches square.

A Victorian Brass Assembled Desk Set, from the Late 19th Century. Consisting of an Inkstand, with a pen rest (dimensions 9.5" x 7"), a Penwipe (3.75" h),and Scissors (7.5" long). In excellent condition.

This mid 19th century folk art crazy quilt is a wonderful mix of richly colored silks and hand embellished surface stitches. The back is a green cotton sateen fabric tied with floss. Eighty seven silk tags create a whimsical border around the entire piece. Taken from a house used as part of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, we believe this piece was the energetic work of a child learning how to sew.
