An Egg and Dart Rim. Circa 1870. Dimensions; 14" long x 10.5" deep x 2.25" high. Made by Rorstrand of Sweden (founded 1726), with the imprint partially visible on the bottom. Excellent condition.

A large ceramic charger with a yellow and black rim enclosing an elaborate scene depicting a version of, “The Toilet of Venus.” Participants include a partially clad Venus, plenty of putti, satyrs, a couple of unclad men and a pair of panthers. Venus is the center of attention. For a very rough comparison, Francesco Albini depicted the subject in 1621 in a painting now at the Louvre. This piece dates to the late 19th century...

Beautiful jasperware wall plaque of a winged lady with a shephard's staff entitled "Pastorale" and signed Stephan Finding and dated 1886. It has very high relief, and the detail is exquisite. A blue and white hand painted Canton oval serving dish with a rain cloud border under stars and an outward turned rim decorated with lines of rain. The interior with the usual Canton scene including bridge, pagodas, sailboats and islands in the distance. The bottom unglazed and showing good orange peel from the firing. 8 7/8 inches (22.5 cm) long, 6 ¾ inches (17 cm) and 1 ½ inches (4 cm). Circa 1850.

A pair of porcelain plates with a maroon and gilt border and complex bouquet of flowers in the center. Hand painted. On the back in a printed scroll, "ED. HONORE" and address, Boulevard Poissoniere Number 6. The mark is the same as the mark on the china that the company provided for the White House in 1846/47 to President Polk. 8 and 3/4 inches (22 cm) diameter.

A well decorated, monogrammed and marked hard paste porcelain plate. The outside border is decorated with a narrow peach ground and elaborate gilding with green dots and red lines. It includes a monogram dominated by the letter "R." The center of the plate is decorated with a hand painted bunch of pansies.

The maroon printed mark, "Ch.PILLIVUYT & Cie/PARIS/EXP 1867/MEDAILLE D'OR" is printed in a dotted oval under the base. Charles Pillivuyt was a well-established porcelain manufacturer...

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in France in the late 19th century. The blank was manufactured by Tressemann and Vogt Limoges and the decoration was done by an unknown decorator using a spurious Sevres marking. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cup is 3 1/4 inches high without the handle. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The cup features a figural handle in the shape of a peacock...

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by a Paris decorator in the 1870s or earlier. It has a hand painted monogram “AJ” hand painted in gold. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. The porcelain it thin and translucent. The cup has a hand painted scene that surrounds the entire surface. An 18th century couple, of noble birth, are holding hands and reading a letter. The painting is soft and dream-like...

Pair of petite Sevres amphoras with lids. Rare Sevres pattern in green and gold on a white background. Circa 1840-1850.
Measures: approx. 6.69" (17 cm) height X approx. 2.95" (7.5 cm) diameter.

A fine example from the Quadrupeds Series, manufactured, primarily for the American market, by John Hall between 1802 and 1832. This particular piece depicts the pronghorn antelope, with a beaver, otter, coyote, and raccoon in the cartouches at the edge of the plate. Marked on the reverse a printed "Hall Quadrupeds".

The plate is 8" in diameter and is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration, and having the desirable deep blue ripple glaze.

A wonderful example of this well-known and highly collected historical Staffordshire scene. This plate is 6 3/4" in diameter, with the impressed Clews mark on the reverse. The condition is superb, with deep color, high clarity, sparkling glaze, and no chips, cracks, scratches, or restoration. It is as fine an example as one could hope for.
