Black-glazed English small teapot with floral decoration in raised enamels, Victorian, c 1850-70. The glaze is named after Jackfield, a town in Shropshire where pottery with a jet black shiny glaze first was produced in the 18th century. No mark except for a brown S (painters mark?) to base. Height including lid "4/ 10 cm. Condition: chips to the inside of lid (cf. pics). A cup and saucer with very similar decoration is offered in another Global Ceramics listing (cf. the last picture).

Staffordshire pottery cup and saucer decorated in a rare combination of rococo brown transfer reserves with pink luster roses. The earthenware body is molded in a swirled pattern.

A Large Round Copeland Tray or Platter in Blue on a White background with a Scalloped Rim with a Gold Edge. The dimension is 15" in diameter, with a height of 1.5". The date mark is for 1881, with the Copeland imprint on the underside. In excellent condition.

An Early Victorian Ironstone English Flow Blue Plate, with a shaped Edge; circa pre-1850. Imprinted mark "Semi China" by either Clementson Bros. or J & R Riley. Dimensions; 9.5" in diameter. Very good condition.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England in 1882. The date letter indicates this year. The saucer has a diameter of 4 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The set is made of bone china. The cup features the traditional Worcester ring handle. The set is decorated with alternating bands of gold and yellow. The gold bands contain chains of hand painted chrysanthemums and the yellow bands have ornate gilding...

Very rare Staffordshire figural inkwell in the form of two birds nesting amongst flowers. A beautifully modeled and painted tulip stands upright between the birds. It is possible that the tulip was intended as a candlestick, because the quill holders are in the base near the birds' tails. Origin: England, ca. 1870. Size: 2-3/4" diameter; 3" tall. Condition: excellent, no damage or repairs.

Three child’s plates with moulded double daisy borders, transfer printed in black, Victorian, 1840’s. Impressed anchor mark and London, probably made by John Carr in Northumberland for a London retailer (cf. discussions on the internet about potteries using this mark in the early Victorian era). One plate with a lady and a little girl in a trellised garden, the other two plates with scenes from a series called Juvenile Companions. Diameter "8 ¼ / 21 cm. Condition: fine.

Beautiful, circa 1900, flow blue 10 1/8” dinner plate featuring hunting and floral scenes. By Sampson Hancock of England in their Leicester pattern, it comes with a hanger as shown in photos.

This fine Staffordshire copper luster pitcher is decorated with a blue band of enamel, creating a very clean, simple design, accented with beading around the border and rim of the pitcher. The fancy serpentine and strap handles give it grace. The warmth of the copper makes it an attractive accessory to a bookshelf or cabinet.

The saucer has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The cup is 1 7/8 inches high with a diameter of 1 7/8 inches. The fine, white bone china is covered entirely be gold. There are panels of intricate, embossed patterns alternating with panels of raised turquoise enamel beads or jewels...

English Spode Blue Transfer deep plate, late 19th century, 9 3/4" diameter, 1 1/2" high, with Italian pattern inside fluted rim and two(2) figures attending cows, imprinted mark "Spode 54" "Spode" in underglaze blue, the condition is good.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Brownfield’s China between the 1870s and 1880s. It was made especially for Tiffany in New York. It is artist signed “Hartmann” and titled “The Lark”. The plate measures 9 1/4” in diameter. The plate is made of fine, white bone china. The border is celeste blue with raised French enamel roses and Asian mons. The edges of the plate are richly gilded and there is beaded and lacy gilded accents...

A hard to find purple transferware pitcher with central vignettes of farm life and genre scenes. The top and inside of pitcher have foliate decoration. The single piece handle is attached. Condition is very good with minor crazing and possible exterior crack for which we have shown 2 pictures. Very moderate age discoloration most noticeably on handle.

6 French majolica asparagus plates with a yellow basket weave pattern edged by a scalloped turquoise rim. The plates features 4 purple tipped asparagus spears laying on a large green artichoke leaf against a turquoise ground. Although difficult to see in photo, there is a well on the right side of the plate for a sauce or melted butter. From the Salins-les-Bains region of eastern France this plate dates circa 1875. This porcelain jewel casket was produced in France in the mid-19th century. The style is very similar to porcelain from the Sevres factory. It is unmarked therefore we cannot specifically identify the maker. There are artist’s initials in the painting. It measures 7 inches long, 4 1/4 inches high and 4 inches wide. The porcelain has molded decorations in the rococo style. The sides are blown out and puffy and the casket sits on four feet. The ground color of the casket is cobalt blue...
