Pearlware dinner plate in the Curbing palms pattern, by Job Ridgway, transfer printed in blue, unmarked. Job Ridgway’s manufacture worked for only a short period, 1802 – 1813. A variation of the Willow border and an additional Nankin border surround an Oriental landscape with curbing palm trees and exotic pagodas. Diameter "9 ¾ / 24.7 cm. Condition: fine.

A well made 18th century Italian dry drug jar. The body is a red clay covered with white slip then painted in blue with a dentil style pattern at the top and bottom with the name of the drug in the central section. The inside is similarly covered in white slip and shows the ridges from being turned on a potter’s wheel. This jar would have been part of a set of jars used for dry drugs in a pharmacy. 7 ¼ inches tall and 4 ¾ inched diameter...

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Ernst Teichert Dresden around 1884. The mark is blue under glaze. The plate has a diameter of 9 3/4 inches. There is a 1 3/4 inch reticulated border around the plate. The center has a hand painted scene of lovers in a garden. It is surrounded by a cobalt blue border. Elaborate gilding frames the painted scene. The pierced border has panels with flowers alternating with scrolled decorations. It is all outlined with gold...

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1800. The cup has a scene of a tourist attraction, Bastey or Bastie, southeast of Dresden. The saucer is 5 7/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 inches tall (without the handle) and has a diameter of 3 inches. The scene is hand painted in minute detail. There are people standing at the edge of a cliff, over looking the Elbe River with the sandstone rock formations in the background...

This set of 10 porcelain dishes with sauce boat was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1880s. The plates have a diameter of 9 inches and the sauce boat is 4 inches high. The underplate on the sauce boat is attached. Each piece is professionally hand painted with fish. The fish are painted with fine detail and outlined with raised gilding. It is interesting to see the different perspectives of each plate. These fish are coming and going in all directions...

A large copper lustre jug / pitcher, both sides transfer printed with Charity as a mother with children, having pity on yet another child. Sunderland, England c 1830, unmarked. Height "5 ½ / 13.5 cm. Condition: a firing crack visible at the base and a glaze bubble to the Charity image to one side (cf. pics). A smaller Sunderland jug with Hope is presented in another GC offer (cf. last pic).

The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and it is 1 1/8 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches at the opening. Marked with impressed “WEMYSS WARE” in an arch over “R.H.&S.” 7 ½ inches tall, 87/8 inch diameter at base. Handles are about 2 ¼ inches out from the body.

A nicely decorated flaring oval fruit or chestnut basket with openwork sides and handles at either end. The red stencil mark on the base of an “A” with a crown is that of the factory at the Rue Thiroux under Marie Antoinette’s protection. It is decorated with sprigs on the bottom of the inside, dots at the intersection of the open weave sides, stripes of red and blue alternating with white on the base, a blue line around the handle and a gilt rim with dentil gilding on the outside edge. This porcelain lidded vase or ginger jar was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It measures 3 ½ inches high and has a diameter of 3 inches. The shape is Asian inspired. It has a bright olive green enamel ground color. An intricate pattern of raised gold in two colors encircles the piece. There are swags, drapes and other design elements making it look like a piece of jewelry. Bright orange and white enamel jewels accent the gilded design. This is a gem of jeweled porcelains. ...
