This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1890s. It is made of bone china and has molded decorations and an ornate handle. The decoration is known as “Spanish Lace”. Fine gilding is accented with raised enamel beading and hand painted flowers. The pattern covers the entire surface of both pieces. A pair of octagonal dessert plates by Copeland, the edges dented and gilt. Japanised, “Aesthetic” decoration of brambles or blackberries, transfer printed and hand painted with some gilt over part of the withered leaves and berries. Diameter "9/ 22.8 cm. The back with the impressed curved mark used by Copeland from 1860 to 1880, and N80, probably for November 1880. Condition: fine.

This trio of tea cup, coffee cup and saucer was produced in Wales by Nantgarw between 1817 and 1822. Illustration #82 in “Nantgarw Porcelain Album” written by W.D. John, G.J. Coombes and K. Coombes shows a cream jug in the same pattern. None of the pieces are signed. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. It is notable that this saucer does not have a foot rim and is unglazed on the bottom, a detail which is mentioned in the book...

Extraordinary majolica tile raised on bun feet. The tile features a sinuous painted Art Nouveau design of elegant swans swimming in a river with a cityscape beyond, surrounded by a border of bamboo. The design has a distinctly impressionist look that brings to mind some of the Rookwood vellum patterns. The bottom is impressed "66" and has an illegibly impressed maker's mark.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by the Royal Cauldon Manufacturer in the 1890s. It is artist signed B. Harrison. The plate measures 9 ½ inches in diameter. It is hand painted with realistic flowers in brilliant colors. There is ornate gilding and gilded accents. The gray border is livened up with gilding. Condition: There is some wear to gilding in the border design and slight scuffs to the center gilding.

Ten creamware dinner plates, transfer printed in puce with a cottage, a farmboy and cattle within a lace border, the outer rim with hand painted vine leaves, also in puce (one vine wreath partly in orange). From Herculaneum in Liverpool c 1810, all with the impressed mark of the pottery as a straight line, in the style of Wedgwood, the name of the pottery also competing with Wedgwood’s Etruria. Diameter "10 / 25.5 cm. Condition: all fine except for a hairline to one of the plates.

A fine example from the Quadrupeds Series, manufactured, primarily for the American market, by John Hall between 1802 and 1832. This particular piece depicts the pronghorn antelope, with a beaver, otter, coyote, and raccoon in the cartouches at the edge of the plate. Marked on the reverse a printed "Hall Quadrupeds".

The plate is 8" in diameter and is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration, and having the desirable deep blue ripple glaze.

Pair of early 19th century Staffordshire mirror image figurines of a girl riding a goat. The coloring is excellent featuring vibrant cobalt blue coats. There is with some crazing which is good. Francis Wheatley ( 1741-1801) first earned his fame as a portrait painter for the aristocracy, but when he fell out of favor, his landmark series of paintings of the Cries of London depicting the working poor hawking their wares on the streets of London ensured long lasting fame. Prints of his paintings were popular throughout the 19th century and early 20th. This Prattware lid was such an example produced by polychrome transfer processes.

Four hand painted blue and white Dutch delft tiles joined with grout on a soft board in the manner in which they would have appeared on a wall. Roughly 10 ¼ x 10 ½ inches (26 x 27 cm). Minor damage at the edges.

A nicely decorated and shaped platter with 12 sides (the form known in France as a douze pans). This type of platter with a bust and scrolling decoration is typical of Moustiers, though the attribution to the Clerissy factory as stated on the stuck-on label on the back is less certain. The dimensions are 13 5/8 inches (35 cm) long, 10 inches (25 cm) wide and 1 ¼ inches 2.5 cm) tall.

A Staffordshire punch bowl decorated with both freehand painting and the transfer of the Chinese ladies and part of the fence in the center of the bowl. The border and the four sprays that decorate the outside of the bowl are all hand painted, as is the pink lustre mountain behind the ladies. The decoration is bright and cheerful. 9 ½ inches diameter, 4 ½ inches tall.

This extremely rare and very early Derby enameled wine taster is of circular shape with gadrooned sides, and has a pierced scroll handle in puce with the exterior handle ends with applied leaves in green. The exterior has puce foliate sprays, and the interior has a circular central panel edged with black and red lines containing an insect.
