A rare and striking large porcelain bowl made by the William Reid manufactory. The scene, handpainted in an underglaze soft grayish-blue, depicts oriental buildings and foliage. The interior has a border of alternating flower heads and dots, and the bottom has a workman's mark. Both the large size of the bowl, and the scene itself, contribute to the rarity of this piece.
The bowl is 6 5/8" on diameter, and is 2 5/8" in height...

A fine hand painted and gold trimmed Dresden factory painted porcelain lidded jam or marmalade pot by Donath & Co. c1900. This 5-1/2" tall serving piece features different floral scenes on each panel between the footed columns and on the lid; it is marked with DRESDEN with the crown mark for Donath & Co. (1893-1916), and it has a gold rose painted over the Thomas maker's name. It also has the retailer's stamp for Ryrie Bros. Ltd. of Toronto (who were bought out by Birks in the 1920s)...

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in France by Demartine Limoges around 1891. It was made especially for Tiffany of New York. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The porcelain is thin and translucent. The ground color is taupe, a combination of dark brown and gray. Both pieces are elaborately hand painted with arabesques that are accented with blue flowers and orange berries...

The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches and the cup is 2 3/4 inches high. The porcelain is fine, white bone china. The cup has a ring handle. The set is hand decorated with fruits and flowers hanging from ribbons. There are gilded medallions and raised gold beading. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold...

This porcelain plate was produced in the U.S.A. by Lenox between 1894 and 1906. The plate has a diameter of 9 inches. It was commissioned for the retailer Bailey, Banks & Biddle of Philadelphia.
The plate is artist signed W.H. Mosley who was a prominent painter at Lenox. The plate has a soft cream colored ground. The center is hand painted in subtle colors in a rather “Impressionistic” manner. The birds are identified as “Rail”, a game bird living in marsh lands...

Pair English Worcester Porcelain Figures playing music, produced before 1900, 8 1/2" high, 4" round at the base, ivory color porcelain with gilding applied as accents with beautiful faces, details are very finely done. A beautiful example of a large Scratch Cross period Worcester tankard of spreading base form with a double groove strap handle. The pattern is "The Zig-Zag Fence", and is the first in a long series of Worcester fence patterns. The particular speciman offered here, with its single line mark, would be early in the c1751 to 1755 period in which this pattern was made. The expected blue workman's mark is on the base.
Condition is excellent, with no cracks, scratches, or chips...

Very fine early Staffordshire child's cup decorated with a pair of colorful roosters. The design was hand-colored over a rudimentary sepia-colored transfer. The pearlware glaze has a wonderful lustre. The bottom edge of the cup is decorated with a molded border.
Origin: England, ca. 1830. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks, light glaze crazing in interior bottom. Size: 2-7/8" tall; 3-1/8" diameter excluding handle.
