Although Adderley is often credited by sellers as the maker of all Blue Chelsea series of table wares, the truth is that it was produced by many makers. This coffee pot is unmarked but clearly a fine Staffordshire example.

Our coffee pot sits on a hexagonal foot whose shaping continues in the body of the pot. It is sparsely decorated in the much beloved Blue Chelsea Sprig motif on a cream body...

A mulberry transfer English Staffordshire plate in the Athens pattern by William Adams & Sons made c. 1850. The inking is crisp and sharp, even on the backside as evidenced by the clear registry mark. The shape has 14 edges. Adams was one of the longest lived potters in England, operating as late as the 1990s.

DAVENPORT 14" Imari Pattern Platter Exceptional c1840 Victorian Church Pattern A 14" DAVENPORT PLATTER c1840 This absolutely stunning Davenport platter is in very good condition, free from chips and blemishes and measuring 14" at its widest point. It has an Imari pattern decoration with an unusual addition of a cobalt blue church design.

Rare, circa 1750, Staffordshire glazed stoneware figurine of a woman with her dog. Measures 5.25 inches high.

Offered is a lovely pair of late 18th Century, just after Dr. Wall Period, Worcester blue and white porcelain teabowls, in the Argument pattern. One teabowl has a small chip to the interior rim and a corresponding even smaller nibble on the outside in the same spot. The other teabowl appears to be free of damage, and has a crisper design as well. These are quite lovely. Each is graced with a Worcester mark of a number hidden within a design to appear vaguely Chinese...

Demitasse black and white coffee can and saucer by Bodley & Co in Staffordshire, c 1870. The pattern, numbered 3438, is of various whimsical silhouetted scenes – a charging officer and fusiliers, firefighting, dueling with walking sticks, an arguing couple, a fat guardsman etc. Impressed mark Bodley. The deep well of the saucer makes the ensemble into a “trembleuse” – a design that made it easier to move the cup from one place in the room to another...

A pair of octagonal dessert plates by Copeland, the edges dented and gilt. Japanised, “Aesthetic” decoration of brambles or blackberries, transfer printed and hand painted with some gilt over part of the withered leaves and berries. Diameter "9/ 22.8 cm. The back with the impressed curved mark used by Copeland from 1860 to 1880, and N80, probably for November 1880. Condition: fine.

English Transferware Pink deep Plate, Ca. 1850, 8 1/4" diameter, 1" high, marked "Woodland" in the double oveal shape circle, mpressed mark beside, rest of the markings are unable to identify, three(3) cows in front of tall trees with Grape Vine Rim design, it is a beautiful pleasant scenerey. Crazing on the glaze, the condition is good.

English dark Brown Transferware Plate, Scalloped Rim, Ca.1900, 8" diameter, marked "British Lake, Stone China, Buttermere" with "Crown" mark on the bottom, two(2) cows and two(2) men and tall mountain in the background, very pleasant design in the center and Flowers and Foliage decorated Rim, the condition is good.

Englisn Staffordshire Transferware Pottery Plate, Ca. 1850, 9 3/8" diameter, deers and cow resting under the big tree, and Cathedral in the far background, marked "Park Scenery, Phillips, Longport", glaze crackled, some mild stains on the back top area, no damages.

An oval English porcelain sugar bowl with the lid and body decorated with blue and magenta bell flowers growing out of gilt plants. The flowers circle both the lid and the body, which has molded ring handles (not working) at the end of the long sides. The knop on the lid is elaborately gilt. Unmarked, but certainly English and from the first quarter of the 19th century. 6 inches tall by 6 inches long by 5 inches wide.

English Transferware Plate, marked "E. Challinor", "Dora" red Transferware Plate, Ca. 1856, 8 1/2" diameter, cows, sheeps and farm house scenery, very pleasant farm animals and houses, and crazing glaze on the surface on the some spots, condition is good.

Beautiful, circa 1900, flow blue 10 1/8” dinner plate featuring hunting and floral scenes. By Sampson Hancock of England in their Leicester pattern, it comes with a hanger as shown in photos.

10 English Crescent & Son China Service Plates, Ca. 1891, 10 1/4" diameter, raised Gold drapes of leafy vines design on Cobalt Blue wide rim, marked on the bottom "England Crescent & Son China","26879", impressed mark "7" above "25",, please check the photographs. The condition is good, some used scratch marks on gold but most of raised gold is in good condition, no chips, no damages.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Bodley between 1870 and 1882. The saucer measures 5 1/4 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup has a puffy, blown-out shape with molded panels. The saucer is heart shaped and also has molded scrolls in the porcelain. The main color is greenish turquoise. Brightly colored, hand painted flowers fill the panels around the cup and surround the interior of the saucer...

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The fine, white porcelain is slightly molded with ribs and the handle is an ornate split branch shape. It is decorated with elegant raised and beaded gilding in Art Nouveau style. Bands of embossed gold trim the rims. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It was produced especially for the prestigious retailer, Gilman and Collamore of New York. The saucer has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The cup is 1 7/8 inches high with a diameter of 1 7/8 inches. The fine, white bone china is covered entirely be gold. There are panels of intricate, embossed patterns alternating with panels of raised turquoise enamel beads or jewels...

A set of six Spode porcelain Imari pattern coffee cans with saucer dishes. Late 18th century, reign oh George III. Excellent condition. Cans height, about 2 1/2 inches. Saucers diameter, about 5 5/8 inches.

A porcelain teapot with blue and reddish cornflowers amidst extensive gilding as well as gilding on parts of the lid and the body. 7 inches tall x 9/1/2 inches long x 4 ¾ inches wide.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Very little wear to the gilding.

A cup and deep saucer in the bamboo pattern with an early printed Spode mark on the cup. The transfer design was applied over glaze by the “pluck and dust” method of transferring color followed by hand painting of the gilding. The color is referred to in the Spode literature as, “chestnut brown,” though this one has a reddish tint. Saucer 5 ½ inches diameter, cup 2 inches tall.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Very minor gilding wear.

A pair of hand painted English porcelain dessert serving dishes, probably Spode, lozenge shaped with lobes and decorated with floral sprays and sprigs in bright colors with gilt scalloped border and gilt floral design in the apexes. No marks on the base, but this form with the elegant gilding in the apexes is ascribed to Spode and from early in the 19th century. Length 10 ¼, width 7 ¼ and height 2 inches.

Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Almost no wear.

1840's English flow blue 9.5" plate, Scinde pattern Marked "Oriental Stone", it was made by J. & G Alcock.

Circa 1790-1820, English underglaze blue pearlware bowl with exaggerated Chinese style figures. Hand painted and in excellent antique condition, it measures 5 1/8” diameter x 2.75” high.

Circa 1830-40, English flow blue octagonal ironstone serving platter. The deep dark blue and the flow is as good as it gets. Made by P W and Co.. in Manilla pattern, it measures 16" x 12". Appears never to have been used, excellent condition.

A fine example of First Period, Dr. John Wall, Worcester botanical fluted porcelain bowl having a blue rim decorated with gold. Mark on bottom with Sotheby’s sticker. This bowl is a rare survivor of this early period and is in excellent condition. Circa 1755-1774. Measures 6.5" diameter, 3" high.

A fine and uncommon blue and white Liverpool Delft plate depicting a heron and fenced garden. The 9" plate is in fine condition, with some minor, common, and expected fritting at a few places along the rim.

A superb and early spread base mug example of the Worcester "Walk in the Garden" pattern. Although Branyan, in his book "Worcester Blue and White Porcelain 1751 - 1790" indicates the date range for this pattern to be 1755 to 1765, the lovely pale grayish-blue color of the decoration and the presence of a scratch cross mark on the base would place manufacture of this mug (or tankard) several years earlier, making this a truly exceptional piece...

A fine and early English saucer showing a Chinese man with a bird. Done in blue and white, lot 303 of the Bonham's sale of the famous and important Watney collection showed this same pattern and identified it as being William Reid porcelain.

The saucer is in excellent condition and is 4 7/8" in diameter.

NOTE: William Reid & Co. were porcelain makers in Liverpool between 1756-61. Their factory was situated on Brownlow Hill where a bone-ash porcelain was produced.

Circa 1780, English creamware with black transfer pheasants and a molded feather edge. Made by Sadler & Green of Liverpool, it measures 10" diameter and .75" deep. Condition is very good with just 2 small chips to edge.
