A pair of good opaque opaline vases lavishly decorated with bouquets and sprigs of hand painted flowers as well as gilt rings at the top and around the foot. The bases with slightly hollow ground pontils. The style is typical of the French from the middle of the 19th century. Height 11 ¾ inches (30 cm).

Condition: no damage to the glass, some wear to the gilding around the top, especially on one.

Offered is this rare, large Gustav Stickley slag-glass lamp, made around 1906. The lamp is 30 inches tall. The shade is 15 1/4 inches wide (diagonal width: 22 inches) while the base is 9 inches wide. The burner is marked, 'B.H' (for Bradley and Hubbard). Overall, the lamp is in good condition for its age - there is a small heat-check in one of the slag-glass panels and a split to one of the wooden panels (see pictures)...

A high quality period American Brilliant Cut glass 9-3/8" comport identified for us as the Meteor pattern, produced by Pairpoint. This unsigned footed glass dish measures 6" across the bowl, and it is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some very tiny bites to a few of the edges (largest shown is 3/16" long). A Hand Blown Barber Scent Bottle with Swirls and Hand Painted Florals. Dimensions; 8" high, 10.75" high including stopper. Circa 1890 and in excellent condition.

A very fine antique Baccarat glass paperweight featuring a Type III pansy and bud. A pair of dark purple petals and three amber petals with purple stripes and spots surround a central bull's-eye cane. The design is completed with bright, finely formed leaves and a bud. The paperweight is further enhanced with a star-cut base, and most unusually, fluted facets along the perimeter. This faceting pattern is very rare in antique Baccarat weight...

Opaline glass bowl in the Brocade pattern, from the John Walsh Walsh glassworks. The opalizing effect was obtained by adding cobalt oxide to the glass, and a complicated procedure of heating and cooling. The opaline patterns made by John Walsh Walsh were produced as early as the turn of the century 1900. Height "3 ¼ / 8 cm, diameter "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.

Pair of mid 19th century cut crystal Irish finger bowls measuring about 4 inches in diameter and 3 inches high. A rare find dating circa 1850.

This is a beautiful Steuben jade glass decorated with acid cut-back floral motif. The heavy vase is approximately 9 1/2 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Except for a tiny spot on the top rim that was probably caused during fabrication and a couple of minor chips to the raised decor (see last two pictures), the vase is in very good condition. Like typical Steuben acid cut-back objects, the vase is unsigned - but it is guaranteed to have been made by Steuben...

A fine English drinking glass with a pointed round funnel bowl engraved with grapes and vines above a double merise (rare) and a short plain stem section, all above a multiple-spiral air twist (MSAT) stem with an inverted baluster shoulder knop and an angular medial knop. The plain section, although short, combined with the air twist might allow classifying this glass as a composite stem type. Conical foot with a rough snapped pontil.

A scarce covered jar in the early American pressed or pattern glass Festoon pattern, issued by Beatty Brady Glass Co. (Indiana 1898). This 7-1/2" jar (including lid) has a crisp and attractive pattern with much raised detail; it is in very good condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than some minor upper edge chipping where the lid sits on the upper rim and one 5/8" internal impact crack on the bottom rim (intact with no loss)...

A rare and early English heavy baluster wine glass of beautiful proportions and stance. It has a trumpet bowl with a markedly solid base containing a tear over an angular teared knop, and a basal knop over a domed and folded foot. The height is 6 inches and there are no flaws or restorations. This is a superb early glass of dark metal and heavy weight.

Handsome Bohemian hand blown amber glass Pinch Bottle Decanter, cut with engraved woodland scene including deer and birds. Height to top of stopper: 11". Condition is excellent.

A cranberry Moser cup and saucer enameled with gold vines, multicolored grape leaves and applied bunches of grapes. The quatrefoil cup sits nicely in the matching saucer. The cup is 2 ½ inches tall and the saucer is 5 inches in diameter. Neither piece is marked and are in great condition other than wear to the gold highlights.

Offering this small unusual 18th century English wine glass with a trumpet bowl on opaque color twist stem with two spiral threads, red and white, over a vertical gauze. In excellent original condition, no chips, no cracks, etc., it measures 4.25 inches high, base and rim 2" diameter. Circa 1760. More photos and information upon request.

A beautiful pair of antique wine glasses of the light baluster form. Although these are smaller than the usual form for a Newcastle light baluster, the proportion of the pointed round funnel bowls to the stems suggests that they are, in fact, an uncommon pair of NLB's. The bowls have engraved foliate borders, each stem with a shoulder knop, a medial angular knop, and a basal true baluster knop. Gently domed folded feet with rough snapped pontils...

A beautiful opaque twist cordial glass, the bucket bowl fulsomely engraved with fruiting grapevines. The stem, of the single series opaque twist type (SSOT), making it much less common than the usual double series, has two spiral gauzes. Conical foot with snapped pontil.

An English antique ale glass with an elongated ogee bowl raised on a double series opaque twist (DSOT) stem containing a pair of corkscrews outside of a pair of heavy spiral threads.

The glass stands 7 7/8 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 1/8 inches and a very wide stance foot diameter of 3 1/8 inches. Good color, striations, and tool marks, with a conical foot with a rough snapped pontil. Wonderful condition with no flaws or restoration.

Beautiful New England Glass Company Plated Amberina tumbler. This rare tumbler is 3 3/4 inches tall, 2 3/8 inches in diameter at the base and 2 ½ inch diameter at the top. This nicely colored piece shades from red at the top to pale yellow at the base, cased over a pale cream liner. There are nine vertical ribs on the tumbler, a polished pontil mark and the rim is fire polished.

Stunning set of four enameled cocktail glasses, almost certainly by Moser. The quality of the glass is superlative. The enameled rooster motif is magnified through the thick glass of the base, so that it looks quite large from inside the bowl (it might be a bit frightening after drinking an entire martini!) The bowls are lightly paneled and are edged in a thin line of gilding.

A fine glass cocktail shaker by Hawkes. The glass blank is blown in an optic paneled style and highlighted with gilding at the neck. The body is beautifully enameled with a colorful rooster and the reverse side is engraved with the recipe for a "Bronx" cocktail. The stopper is finished with floral intaglio engraving. The The double-lip form of the shaker is very similar to the shape Hawkes used for oil & vinegar cruets. The base and stopper are signed with Hawkes' acid-etched trefoil mark....

A double knopped multiple spiral air twist drinking glass with a round funnel bowl. Between the shoulder knop and the bowl is a plain straight section of stem which might almost qualify this glass a composite stem type. Conical foot. 6 5/16 inches in height with a bowl diameter of 1 7/8 inches and a foot diameter of 2 3/4 inches.

A 19thC Bohemian red glass and enamel vase. This late Victorian era red or ruby flash 7-1/4" tall lobed vase features clear panels with acid etching with hand applied blue, orange and green enamel painting as well as traces of gold trim on the top edge. Very nice glass calabash in aqua blue. One side features hands clasped across a patriotic shield surrounded by stars and olive branches and the word "Union". The other side is decorated with an American eagle grasping a banner, shield, arrows and olive branches. The calabash has a polished pontil on the bottom and an applied lip at the neck.

A superb wine glass enameled by William Beilby, with the additional embellishment of a gilded rim. Leaves and clusters of grapes adorn this glass, with the white enamel displaying the slight pinkish undertone which is one of the hallmarks for identification of works by Beilby.

A marvelous and very rare Victorian patchbox, the body carved from a single piece of ivory and the cut crystal lid enclosing a cameo incrustation (“sulphide”) depicting a pansy. A ribbon tied around the flower’s stem reads “a moi”. This is a clever play on words. The French word for pansy is “pensé”, which is very nearly the same word used to mean “thought”.
