An uncommon set of six nut picks, the mother of pearl handles attached to the silverplate picks with sterling silver ferules. The ferules are decorated with ropetwist borders flanking an ornate acanthus leaf pattern. In the Victorian era, fresh nuts would have been served alongside and cheese and fruit as a dessert course. The ferules are marked "Sterling".

Circa 1870, brown transferware platter, Staffordshire Nanking pattern, by E. Challinor. In very good condition, there is some crazing commensurate with age and some staining, most notably on the back. Measures about 18 inches long, 14" high, and 1.5" deep. Hanger included.

A Toddy or Punch Ladle in Sterling Silver by Gorham in the rare Louis XIV pattern, for Theodore B. Starr and Herman Marcus. It is in a bent ladle shape (may have been straight originally, but more likely it was based on designs in the George III period) and dates from about 1870, when the design was patented. It weighs 6.4 Troy ounces and measures 8" x 5", with a bowl of 4.5" x 3.5". Its unbent length would be 14.5". There is a monogram "N" on the underside of the handle...

An exceptionally attractive transferware bowl in the Milanese Pavilion pattern having fruit and floral images around the rim while two elegantly attired ladies converse on the pavilion. The back stamp bears the J H & Co mark of Joshua Heath & Co and dates to c. 1840 While the bowl is visually magnificent, it has a 2 3/4" hairline crack for which we have drastically reduced the price and for which we would consider reasonable offers. A wonderful sterling silver trout set in Towle's 1884 "Arlington" pattern. The handles are decorated in the repousse style with a profusion of roses and foliage. The decoration lends itself to being mixed with many of the repousse patterns from the Baltimore area. White Meissen porcelain with gold leaves on both saucer and cup. The gold is not chipped or worn away indicating that the cup and saucer are in great condition. The saucer is 5 inches in diameter and the cup is 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height.

This is a fabulous Victorian sterling ladies’ card case for that special collector, marked "sterling and "W&H" for the well-known New York silversmiths Wood & Hughes. The shaped case, with an attachment for a chain, has beautiful foliate engraving surrounding a central cartouche with the name "Hettie" and "1876" in the center; a Victorian heart is engraved on the reverse. An attractive personalized glass paperweight by the Union Glass Co. The typical patriotic coloring is made up of the honoree’s name “John W Sullivan” in lampwork letters surrounded by a ring of red and blue lampwork flowers with small green leaves. As with all Union Glass weights, the crown is high and has very nice clarity. The glass is also quite heavy. The polished base is flat.

A high quality milk glass goblet paneled with 9 facets and decorated with 3D grape and leaf design, most likely Westmoreland No. 1881. Stem is also faceted, standing on round foot. The "milk" alternates between translucence and opacity. This goblet is early 20th C. and in excellent condition.

Extremely rare piece of Heisey that was in a drug store in the midwest in the late 1800s. It has stayed in the same family all these years. It measures 29" tall and in very good condition for its age. It does have a small chip on the rim of the bottom plate, and there are stains on the top plate that need to be taken out, although its not something I do. Other than that and a few extremely minor rough edges, its in great shape. I have never seen a piece like this before, nor have I seen one...

Exquisite cut glass flower centre bowl in the Glenwood pattern by J. D. Burgen, 1899. This bowl was made in three sizes, and this 12 inch one is the largest of the three. It is in perfect original condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs. It is referenced and pictured in the Encyclopedia of American Cut and Engraved Glass by Michael Pearson, Volume 1, page 58.

A stunning cut double-overlay white/cranberry/clear cologne bottle, mostly likely by the New England Glass Company. The broad base is slightly footed and decorated with opaque white casing cut in a classic foral vine pattern to a transparent rose-cranberry base. The panel-cut tapered neck is enhanced with a faceted applied ring. The open-top tulip-form stopper has a long knopped neck and white/cranberry panel cutting on the petals. The concave base is polished.

This is an elegantly proportioned wine glass with a flared bell bowl and a color twist stem. The stem has two translucent red and two opaque white spiral threads surrounding a loose vertical cable. The foot is of conical form with a rough snapped pontil.

The glass is of heavy, bright metal, and displays good tooling marks and striations. 19th century. The condition is excellent, with no chips, scratches, or repairs of any type.

A pair of “King’s pattern” heavy porcelain dinner plates with underglaze blue and overglaze red and gilt decoration. This pattern was an Imari pattern that acquired the “King” name. An especially attractive flint glass mold pressed goblet in the block and star pattern with ruby flashed top. Overall condition is very good although you can see some mild loss to the ruby stain. The glass probably dates to circa 1910. It was most likely made by Tarentum Glass.

This is a fine sterling silver napkin ring with a Gorham mark made in the Victorian period, ca 1860, brite cut with scrolling flowers and monogrammed RCW. Condition is very good having small surface dings; Measurement: 1 5/8 in. diam. x 1 in. high.

For several reasons, this is a very unusual basket. To start with a basic description, it is a very large (17" by 17" by 15 1/4"), square, covered splint basket from the Maine area, most probably made by the Penobscot Indian tribe. Many baskets of this type are of splint, colored with vegetable dyes. Some have the added design of potato stamped patterns on the splints.
