A wine rinser, or washer, in a deep Bristol green color; unusual in that it is the single-lipped form as opposed to the normal type with two lips; 3 1/2" tall, 4 1/2" diameter

An exceptionally attractive transferware bowl in the Milanese Pavilion pattern having fruit and floral images around the rim while two elegantly attired ladies converse on the pavilion. The back stamp bears the J H & Co mark of Joshua Heath & Co and dates to c. 1840 While the bowl is visually magnificent, it has a 2 3/4" hairline crack for which we have drastically reduced the price and for which we would consider reasonable offers. Dimension: 10 1/4"

Fabulous and extremely rare hand-forged iron trade sign in the form of a pretzel. The sign retains an old gilt surface. There is a strong trace of red, yellow and blue paint on the back side and edges of the pretzel, no doubt the colors that were used on the wall or backboard to which the sign was attached through the 13 mounting holes. There also appears to be a red layer underneath the gold. This layer was probably intended to be an undercoating to give the gilding more depth...

An Early Victorian Round Rosewood Lidded Box with Armorial Decoration. Circa, 1850. Dimensions; 4.5" high x 2.5" in diameter. Excellent condition.

Beautiful bronze and ivory sculptured figure depicting a young woman wearing a period dress with hat. One of her arms supports a parasol. The angled stance makes for a dynamic sculpture. Possibly Romanian.
The piece rests on an oval onyx pedestal.

A Toddy or Punch Ladle in Sterling Silver by Gorham in the rare Louis XIV pattern, for Theodore B. Starr and Herman Marcus. It is in a bent ladle shape (may have been straight originally, but more likely it was based on designs in the George III period) and dates from about 1870, when the design was patented. It weighs 6.4 Troy ounces and measures 8" x 5", with a bowl of 4.5" x 3.5". Its unbent length would be 14.5". There is a monogram "N" on the underside of the handle...

A Victorian Coal Bin or Scuttle of Mahogany Wood with Brass Handle Fittings and Brass Knob on Hinged Front Lid; Fitted Removable Metal Interior. Dimensions; 13" wide x 10.5" high x 17.5" deep. Some limited damage to top (see picture) but otherwise in very good condition. American, circa 1880-1900.

From our European Collection, a good late 19th century bronze figural inkwell, probably French.

Size and Condition: 9 inches wide, 5 1/4 inches tall, 6 1/4 inches deep. Some verdigris to the patina, the interior glass ink container liner has a small crack, and the inkwell lid does not fully close, though this can easily remedied with a competent repair. Still fine overall condition.

A hand-painted moulded earthenware (religious subject) wall plaque with "majolica" glaze, made in the style of the 15th century Italian sculptor and ceramicist Lucia della Robbia...

An Etched Copper Bed Warmer with a Turned Oak Handle. From the mid/late 19th century. Dimensions 42" in length, pan 11.5" in diameter x 3.5" in height. Some minor wear but in very good condition

A lovely bright olive green vase with molded ribbed blocking and cold-gilt gold and platinum decoration depicting thistles. The gilding is of very fine quality and has almost an Aesthetic Movement appearance. The vase uses a cased construction of various layers of clear and colored glass typical of Moser. The bottom is finished with a concave polished pontil and is marked with the form/decoration code “Q/195”.

A beautiful covered Bohemian goblet, with blue enameling, cutting, and engraved with roses and foliage, a true exhibition of decorative exuberance; 7 1/2" tall with cover, 5 5/8" tall without cover, 2 5/8" diameter bowl, 2 5/8" diameter foot

An uncommon set of six nut picks, the mother of pearl handles attached to the silverplate picks with sterling silver ferules. The ferules are decorated with ropetwist borders flanking an ornate acanthus leaf pattern. In the Victorian era, fresh nuts would have been served alongside and cheese and fruit as a dessert course. The ferules are marked "Sterling".

Most sterling silver flatware services before 1900 had mother of pearl cutlery instead of knives that matched the rest of the service...

Circa 1870, brown transferware platter, Staffordshire Nanking pattern, by E. Challinor. In very good condition, there is some crazing commensurate with age and some staining, most notably on the back. Measures about 18 inches long, 14" high, and 1.5" deep. Hanger included.

A Minton Majolica Deep Blue Square Vase, with Images of Swans on the Four Panels. Dimensions; 10" high x 4.25" square at base; 5.75" square at top. Circa 1862-1872. Excellent condition.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in England around 1860. It has no maker's marks. The workmanship and quality are similar to that of Copeland. The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches and the cup is 2 3/4 inches high. The porcelain is fine, white bone china. The cup has a ring handle. The set is hand decorated with fruits and flowers hanging from ribbons. There are gilded medallions and raised gold beading. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold...

A Pair of Bronze Figural Candelabras with Four Arms and five Lights. Height 16" x 14" wide. Each one weighs about 7 pounds. Features dancing couples on each of the main arms and a piper on the center arm. Late 19th century and probably French. Very Good condition.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1890s. It is made of bone china and has molded decorations and an ornate handle. The decoration is known as “Spanish Lace”. Fine gilding is accented with raised enamel beading and hand painted flowers. The pattern covers the entire surface of both pieces. The rims and handle are gilded. It has a unique shape and Victorian charm. Condition: Excellent

A Pair of Doulton Lambeth Candlesticks. The base is incised with the Doulton Lambeth Silicon mark. They are Clay colored with Applied Decoration in Cream and Light Blue. The height is 6.25" and they date from c. 1895. They are in excellent condition.

Beautifully designed large Art Nouveau pewter plate bathed in silver with a scene of a hunting dog camying its prey. The back of the plate contains a ring used for hanging. Seals of the manufacturer are located on the back.
Measures:18.25" (46.5 cm) length X 11"(28 cm) width.

A unusual brass tea caddy from the Imperial Romanov era. These boxes are much more frequently seen as rectangular shapes rather than ovals. The hinged lid is decorated with an ornately detailed appliqué of the imperial Romanov double-headed eagle. The interior is tin-lined in the traditional Russian style. The lid can be locked with a small padlock—a reminder that tea was once an expensive, luxurious commodity that had to be protected from household thieves...

This is a wonderful pair of sterling silver tablespoons made by the Whiting Manufacturing Co. in the decorative repousse "Berry" Pattern, circa 1880, the front beautifully detailed with blueberry-like berries and leaves; monogrammed on the back with initials A. C., Whiting makers mark, and STERLING; Wt. 2.11 troy oz; Measurement- 6 3/4 inches, Bowl-2 1/4 long; Condition is excellent with minor surface scratches.

Heavy brass letter opener with a fully repoussed handle. There is a face on both sides at the end of the handle. It is made to look like a barbed dagger or sword. It measures approximately 9 inches long and at its widest, it measures 1.25 inches. The overall weight is 152.5g. It most likely dates to the late Victorian era; it is unmarked and in very good condition.

A Pair of Capo Di Monte Covered Urns. High Relief Figures of Puttis on Mid-section and Base and Rams Head Handles. Dimensions; 15.5" high x 9" at Mid-section. They are of substantial weight, a total of 5 pounds 4 ounces. Italian, Circa 1870-1890 and in excellent condition.

An inscription in the center is to the Winslow Williams, for their 25th Anniversary (1883),from their employees. Gorham date mark for 1882. Dimensions; 10.75" in diameter x 3"high (3.75" foot diameter). Weight 18.4 Troy ounces. Excellent condition.

The name of the company is impressed in the porcelain and there is a registry mark giving the precise date the cup and saucer was produced. Sterling silver sugar spoon with very fine decoration of a peacock amidst trailing foliage. The bowl is parcel gilt and is decorated with bright-cut engraving. The reverse is marked "Sterling". Before 1916, many American silversmiths did not mark their name on flatware.

Origin: America, circa 1885. Condition: excellent, period monogram "B" on reverse side. Size: 5-5/8" long.

A Compete Set of Five Pair of Diamond Brass Candlesticks. The Original Three Pairs (Ace of Diamonds, King of Diamonds and Queen of Diamonds) were Designed to Commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee (1837-1897). The Remaining Two Pairs (Prince of Diamonds and Princess of Diamonds) came out in 1901, after Victoria's Death. There are several ding and scratches on the individual pieces, but overall in very good condition. The full set is a rare occurrence.
