This porcelain bell was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1890s. It has the authentic underglaze crossed swords marking. The bell measures 4 1/4 inches high and has a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. It is hand painted with the Tischenmuster (table pattern) design. The design is an Asian inspiration. The decoration is very colorful and has abundant gilded accents. This lovely string holder weighs 3 ounces, and its pierced design allows you to see if you will soon need more string. It measures 3-1/4" in diameter and it stands 3-1/4" in height. An uncommon English firing dram glass with an ogee bowl, c 1765, made of lead metal. The stem is of the double series opaque twist type (DSOT) and is comprised of a pair of 6-ply spiral bands outside of a pair of spiral tapes. The terraced foot is highly desirable and sought after by collectors...

Set of 4 Victorian sterling silver place card holders. Made by Saunders and Shepherd in Chester in 1899. Each: A rifle is propped against a shilling coin dated 1899, the year war broke out in South Africa between the British and Dutch colonial settlements. The rifle is the famous Lee-Metford, which was by then a tad old fashioned, but still considered reliable by British as well as Dutch troops, who made use of captured specimens. Open lunette base with vertical support...

A pair of tall beautiful Bohemian art glass vases decorated (most probably by acid etching) with pastoral scenes. Each vase is 13 3/4 inches (35 cm) tall and 5 3/4 inches (14,5 cm) wide at the widest. Overall, the vases are in good condition (there are some flea-bites on rims and a tiny flea-bite on the body of one vase). Unsigned - attributed to Beyermann of Haida based on decor and shape.

Wonderful tactile slinky watch chain. To be a proper watch chain, the chain must be over 50" long, as they were originally made (shorter chains are simply cut up watch chains). Snake chains are a favorite link because of the slinky smooth texture and the way the link bounces back when adjusted...

A fine and beautiful balustroid type ale or large wine glass, of lead metal. The pointed round funnel bowl, which has close wrythening, flares slightly, making it almost a bell bowl, and sits atop a stem with a wrythened flattened shoulder knop and a wrythened basal knop. The stem also has close wrythening. Such a stem is often referred to as rib-twisted.

The glass is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration...

A large silk satin fan, with sixteen gilt decorated wood "sticks", hand-painted depicting four birds amongst flowering prunus or cherry branches. This item is made with Chinese silk but was probably made in France and was retailed in Liverpool - unusually complete with its original box which carries a dispatch date of 9th November 1898. This item is in very good unused condition. 34cm (13.3inches) long; 62cm (24.3inches) wide when extended...

Two exquisitely enameled Höchst coffee cups, one with a rose and the other with a tulip. The porcelain manufacture of Höchst near Frankfurt am Main was founded in 1746, and the two coffee cups were made around 1765. Underglaze blue wheel mark to both, and brown rims. Height "2/ 5 cm, diameter "2 ¾ / 7.1-7.3 cm. Condition: fine.

Lovely handpainted Sevres plate of cherubs in a garden. Artist sighed S. Poiterie (?). Writing is hard to read. With a pink border heavily decorated in gold, this plates measures 9 1/2" diameter and is in perfect condition.

French Art Deco vase made by CAB (Ceramique d'Art de Bordeaux) for Ovington, New York, circa 1920. This porcelain plaque or charger was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1900. It was painted by the renowned artist Professor Julius Eduard Braunsdorf who was apprenticed at Meissen 1858. He was a specialist flower painter and art teacher. The plaque is 14 inches in diameter and has a piercing on the foot rim for hanging. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The brightness of the flowers against the dark blue ground makes a dramatic contrast...
