True to the name this doll is rag stuffed simple and straight forward. Her body is two gingerbread shaped pieces of cloth, sewn together and firmly stuffed with rags. Her eyes are two old snaps sewn in place and they do the trick. Her legs have been bent so many times that she sits nicely. She has on the dress she came in. It is a soft worn red dress with with a ruffles down the front and around the neck and sleeves. She is 19" tall and is circa 1900...

These little handmade Civil War era dolls are some of my favorite. This one has on a heavy satin dress with a brown egg wash chintz cotton petticoat. she has a net bonnet adorned with a white ribbon over real hair. She is wearing the tiniest metal eye glasses I have ever seen. She has little rolled arms and a stump body that never had legs. Her dress is melting a bit above her waist and there is a crack in the nut shell but an old one and it is hard to see because she is so small...

A striking antique wine glass with a solid base bell bowl engraved with a grape vine, leaves, and bunches of grapes. The stem has a multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) extending into the base of the bowl, and features a medial bladed collar. Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil. Fine color, striations, and tooling marks.

Condition is excellent with no problems, flaws, or restoration...

Two antique bone thread winders one in the shape of a fish and the other with to concave ends. Both measure just shy of 1 1/2". These would be nice to add to a sewing collection. Mid to late 1800's.

This doll was bought in the mid west and had to have been made by an older child or a mother doing the best she could with what she had. She is firmly straw stuffed. Her face is stitched with heavy thread. Her mouth is stitched with the use of many "xxx"s and it looks great. Her nose is pinched raised with overcasting thread. Her eyes are framed with red stitches and her eyes and eyebrows are brown thread. Her red bonnet is sewn on as are her clothes...

A large drawn trumpet bowl leads to a double series opaque twist (dsot) stem comprised of a pair of heavy spiral threads outside of a central gauze. The bowl is engraved with a rising sun, a well-known masonic symbol. In all, this item has a wonderful and strong presence to it. Thick firing foot with a rough snapped pontil.

The glass is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, other flaws, or restoration. The height is 4 5/8", with a bowl diameter of 3" and a foot diameter of 2 3/4".

A striking and nicely painted oil on canvas pair of American portraits. The sitters (by family repute) are Hendrick Henry Lasher (1788 - 1843) and Hannah Sharp (1793 - 1851) of New York.

Painted in a straightforward, stark style, the artist has deftly used dark tones for the clothing the background, focusing the light and the viewer's attention on the faces.

Condition is very good, with no holes or large amounts of restoration...

An antique Georgian balustroid drinking glass featuring a bell bowl over a shoulder annulated knop. Further, there is medial teared inverted baluster knop and a basal knop. The foot is domed and folded with a rough snapped pontil.

No condition issues and standing 5 3/8" tall, with a bowl diameter of 2" and a foot diameter of 2 1/4".

An elegant lead metal wine glass of balustroid type, having a round funnel bowl over a shoulder angular knop over a straight stem with an extended tear and basal knop. High conical folded foot. A well-fashioned and tall example of this form.

Overall excellent condition, with no restoration or cracks. Wonderful color, striations, and tooling marks...

Up for sale is a very large antique Chinese red silk wedding wall hanging / tapestry, embroidered with 2 large phoenixes, peonies, other birds, peaches, butterflies, and flowers executed in silk floss and gold wrapped threads. The tapestry is lined with red brocaded lining and 3.5" border along the edges. Overall is in excellent condition, no wear or fraying, no stains, vibrant colors ! Measurements: Red silk with embroidery 49" x 24"; with border 55.5" x 31"

A superb Victorian Art Nouveau baby rattle, the handle carved from a large piece of mother-of-pearl and adorned on either side with a gorgeous Art Nouveau lady's head worked in sterling silver and finished with three silver bells. Although unsigned, the particulars of the design are very similar to a known Unger design. Marked "Sterling".

Origin: America, ca. 1895. Condition: excellent except for the bells which show considerable wear from a toothing child. Size: 4-1/2" long.

An Edwardian carved mother of pearl silver plated bread fork from the 1900-1910 era. This ornate and out of the ordinary example of Victorian and Edwardian table serving pieces measures 8-5/8" long and it has the shape and three tines found on bread serving forks of this period (however it can be used for whatever purpose you wish). It has fancy high relief finials with acanthus leaves and flowers, a stepped finial and fancy modelling of the silver plate links...

This set of 12 porcelain plates was produced in England by Copeland’s China around 1891. They were made especially for Tiffany in New York. The plates have a diameter of 8 7/8 inches. They are made of fine bone china and have molded, high relief accents in the porcelain. Each plate has 4 hand painted birds that are named on the back. They are precisely depicted in vivid color with no two alike. The borders are elaborately gilded...

This porcelain tea cup and biscuit tray was produced in France by Haviland Limoges in the 1890s. The tray measures 8 inches long, 7 inches wide and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The set is made of fine, translucent porcelain. It has molded, high relief detail. The set is decorated with a factory transfer design of pastel colored florals. These wispy flowers float across the porcelain surface and down inside the cup. There is a gilded accent on the cup and tray handles. Condition: Excel...

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Furstenburg between 1753 and 1770. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cup is 3 inches high at the handle. The cup has the traditional Biedermeier style handle that raises above the rim of the cup. There are hand painted bands of grape vines and grapes done in earth tones. There are gold accents and trim on the rims and handle. Condition: There is some light wear to gilding in the well of the saucer where the cup sits...

An 18th c French yellow silk underdress front, beautifully and heavily embroidered with metallic threads. The overall size is 27 1/2" by 19". The condition is good, with some scattered wear and pulls. It could highly benefit from a careful pressing.

Cartouche-shaped black marble plaque inset with oval micromosaic panels depicting Roman archaeological scenes (clockwise from upper left): the Coliseum, the Temple of Hercules, the Roman Forum and the Pantheon. Those four panels surround the Doves of Pliny, an image often used in micromosaics, which comes from a Roman floor mosaic at Hadrian’s villa in Tivoli and is believed to be a copy of a lost ancient Greek mosaic at Pergamon described by Pliny the elder.
