Crucifix in wood and pewter. The cross is made up of 2 planks of softwood, fir or larch? The Christ and the other elements are in cast pewter (or lead?). A similar but smaller crucifix is kept at the Victoria & Albert museum which advertises it as an 18th century Spanish work. 375 x 185 mm Good condition, some lacks as can be seen on photos. This pair of porcelain vases was produced in Austria in the 1890s. They have a beehive marking painted over the glaze. They are 8 5/8 inches tall. The diameter at the widest point is 4 inches. The form of the vases has a classic, clean silhouette. But the tour de force is the jeweled decoration. Raised enamel beads or jewels imitating sapphires, opals, amethysts, and rainbow quartz accent and drape around each vase. There are garlands of tiny pink roses and tiny gilded rosettes...

Eye catching 15K gold and amethyst ring surrounded by pave set chrysoberyls from Portuguese mines in Brazil. Fabulous jewelry was made from the various gemstones exported from these mines until the French invasion of Portugal in 1809. The ring is size 8 1/4 and can be sized to fit.

This is a charmingly rendered watercolor on paper portrait of an attractive little girl, leaning against a hillock of red flowers amidst green foliage. The artist has chosen to omit details in the background, and, instead, draws the viewer's focus to the subject by limning her dress in a bright blue, and having her hold several flowers in her hand. The work possesses a whimsy and naivete that brings a smile to one's face, as good folk art often does...

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1800. The cup has a scene of a tourist attraction, Bastey or Bastie, southeast of Dresden. The saucer is 5 7/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 inches tall (without the handle) and has a diameter of 3 inches. The scene is hand painted in minute detail. There are people standing at the edge of a cliff, over looking the Elbe River with the sandstone rock formations in the background...

An exceptional and uncommon William Reid porcelain coffee cup, with an oriental figure beside a table, flanked by a dragonfly and birds flying over a leafless tree, the whole painted in bright colors. The handle is of the angular loop type.

The condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, fading, paint loss, or restoration. Height is 2 3/8" with a diameter of 2 1/8".
