Dutch silver figural spice box. Imported to England in 1891 by BH Joseph & Co. An egret gracefully scrolled neck, red glass eyes, and gaping beak stands on one scaly leg, the other leg raised with clenched talons. A beautiful bird with nicely delineated plumage. Hinged at bust. Dutch assay stamp and date letter, and English sterling-standard import marks including London assay stamp. Excellent condition.

This set of 10 porcelain bowls and 10 plates was produced in France by Jean Pouyat Limoges in 1914. Only one set is pictured, but the price includes the set of 10 matching bowls and plates. The plates measure 7 1/4 inches and the bowls are 5 inches in diameter and 2 inches high. The naturalistic design is an inspiration of the art nouveau period. A colorful Uzbeki velvet Ikat textile fragment in a striking plethora of colors. In good overall condition and mounted on linen. The sight size is 20" by 16" and the overall size is 23 1/2" by 19 1/4".

Purchased in Istanbul in 1996 for a private collection.

American Edwardian Classical sterling silver water pitcher, ca 1910. Retailed by Bailey, Banks & Biddle in Philadelphia. Wide-bodied baluster with leaf-capped c-scroll handle; raised foot. A large tyg with hand painted apples and leaves with green dental banding and green dashes on the three handles. The tyg, or loving cup, is a popular form for Wemyss. Marked with impressed “WEMYSS WARE” in an arch over “R.H.&S.” 7 ½ inches tall, 87/8 inch diameter at base. Handles are about 2 ¼ inches out from the body.

Condition. No chips. There are two hairline cracks extending from the rim part of the way down the body. One handle broken off and restuck...

Lovely large silver plate tray with beading center decoration and trim, with beading around the edges. It has raised handles with wood in the center, and small raised feet. I can't find any markings on it, but it is definitely old and lovely. It measures 26" long by 19" deep and can easily hold a lovely tea set.

Unusual antique French Limoges gold trimmed porcelain oyster plate depicting different sea grasses. In excellent condition, it measures 9.5" diameter.

NOTE: A very interesting technique was used to create the effect of underwater movement. They 1st printed the image in light green, then printed the same image in dark pink over it, but slightly offset. Where the images overlapped, it created a 3rd color, brown, which establishes the main part of the plant.

This set of 6 covered chocolate cups or pot de crèmes was produced in England in the mid 19th century. They are unmarked so we cannot identify them specifically. They are 4 1/2 inches high including the lids. They are made of fine bone china. They are decorated with wide panels of bright orange. There are flowers and gilded leaves within these panels. The finials on the lids and rims are trimmed with gold. The cups bear a gilded wreath containing a monogram. Condition: Excellent...

Folk Art Duck Decoy hand carved from wood with yellow eye created from a thumb tack. The bird is painted black with white highlights and a grey bill. It has a leather strap on the base used for pulling the decoy in the water.
CONDITION: signs of wear on leather and on the base of the decoy. The yellow thumb tack is probably a later replacement.

An elegant first standard (950/1000 pure silver) French silver tastevin in typical 18th century Burgundian style. Rather than with the typical "perles" and fluted "godrons", the bowl of this tastevin is decorated with repousse grape leaves and berries in the 18th century style. This treatment is sometimes seen in tastevins made by Parrod, but the particular decoration is different than any other we've seen...

A Sheffield plate helmet style cream jug circa 1780-1800. This 5" high genuine cream pitcher predates electroplating and it consists of thin layers of silver laid on to copper sheets; the sandwich of metals is then formed into the desired object. This unsigned creamer is in good original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs; it has the expected areas of copper blush from polishing over the last couple of centuries...

Nicely decorated with hand painted floral bouquets and sprigs on a hard paste porcelain a trembleuse cup, cover and saucer. The rims are dental gilt as are the fruit and leaves knop and two handles. No marks but French in form and decoration from around 1780...

our early C1790 Georgian 18K seven stone diamond half hoop ring has seven table-cut diamonds (flat on top, faceted sides). The ring is closed back and the diamonds are foiled backed, exactly the way gemstone rings were made in the Georgian period. The diamonds are mounted in silver and set in gold, as the Georgians believed silver was better suited to set off the cool white tones of diamonds. This ring would make a lovely engagement ring or gift to oneself. The ring is a size 7.
