This pair of porcelain plates was produced in England by Copelands China in the 1880s for the retailer J.E. Caldwell of Philadelphia. They measure 8 1/8 inches in diameter. The porcelain blanks are fluted and scalloped. The ground color is salmon pink. They are decorated with an elaborate pattern of raised enamel beads and intricate gilding. They are an example of the splendor of porcelain in the “Gilded Age”. These plates are exhibition worthy. Condition: Excellent

A very nice Imperial Russian enameled silver spoon by Gustav Klingert. The bowl is beautifully decorated in five shades of opaque cloisonné enamels and in translucent red and amethyst. The design I modified floral pattern with a Persian-style reserve. The handle is finished in a fish-scale enameled pattern. Exposed areas of silver are stippled and gilt. The interior of the bowl is engraved “Moscow”, indicating that the spoon was sold as a souvenir to an American or English visitor...

This Victorian serving piece is a small sterling silver ladle made by Whiting and perfect for pouring a fruit sauce over that special dessert. It has a lovely square shaped gilded bowl with a scalloped rim edge and shell ribbing and beaded handle, monogram ESC, maker's mark "W", a winged griffin, "Sterling, PatAppp For", measures 6 in; very good condition with age appropriate wear to gilt.

It is unusual to find such a striking multi-colored basket of such size and in such wonderful condition. The splint basket, with its wooden handle, is from the Northeast area of the United States, and is done in shades of blue-green, orange-red, and brown.

The basket is 18" long, 12" wide, and 14 " to the top of the handle. Overall condition is excellent, with only one splint split on the interior, not visible from the outside.

An elegant first standard (950/1000 pure silver) French silver tastevin in typical 18th century Burgundian style. Rather than with the typical "perles" and fluted "godrons", the bowl of this tastevin is decorated with repousse grape leaves and berries in the 18th century style. This treatment is sometimes seen in tastevins made by Parrod, but the particular decoration is different than any other we've seen...

A very attractive late 19th century first standard (950/1000 pure silver) wine taster by Parisian silversmith Louis Coignet. The tastevin is decorated in the Bourgogne style with an applied handle in snake form. The serpent is beautifully decorated with engraved scales and eyes. The sides are enhanced with repousse and chased decoration of grape clusters and vine leaves. This example is classic form, but has a very steep convex bottom and no “godrons” or “perles” along the sides...

A Large Royal Worcester Vase with a Reticulated Neck, Pierced Design in the Handles and Gilt on Rim and Bottom. Outstanding and rare Victorian sterling silver berry or casserole spoon by Gorham in the 1885 "Nightingale" pattern. The design uses bright-cut engraving to show a nightingale amid foliage singing to a crescent moon (just visible i the upper left side of the design). This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by a Dresden decorator. We believe that it was made by Donath Dresden because it is marked in red and the coloring and style are similar to others we have had. There is an artist’s signature in the lower right corner of the portrait which may be Wagner. The cup is marked Madame Montesson, wife of King Louis the XV. The saucer is 4 inches in diameter. This example is of small size, intended for use in evaluating cognac, Armagnac or calvados instead of wine.
