This is an exceptional example of a circa 1915, MacGregor, DEEP GROOVE golf club that was designed to significantly enhance the backspin of a golf ball. As history would have it, these clubs actually worked and gave an unfair advantage to those professionals who were adept at using them! In 1921, RIBBED GOLF CLUBS were banned just after the OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP by both the R&A and USGA.

This diminutive black basalt wax seal was made by Wedgwood in the late 18th C. as a protest against slavery and features Hercules. The condition is nearly immaculate with no defects to report. Measuring 3.25 inches high by 3.75 inches in diameter, this lovely Victorian Barber Shop, mustache or shaving cup or mug remains in excellent condition but for the subtle wear to the gilt-edged rim.

The cup is embossed with swirls, dots and bows as well as decorated further with gold-drawn designs and 2 large, hand-painted pink roses with 1 smaller cream-colored rose. The cup base is scalloped and the fancy handle is gold-gilded.

Feminine Silver Dress Cane-Ca. 1890-Silver handle hand chased and engraved with various panels of different flowers, scrolls and shells on its stretching stem and with a crown of flowers on the round and flattened knob, mahogany shaft and a copper ferrule.
