S.B. Champlin Company Providence, RI 1872 - 1934

A sharply angled, almost-triangular-plan 5-story brick industrial building, this was constructed by the S.B. Champlin Company (established 1872) to house its manufacturing of gold rings and gold-filled chains as well as provide rental space for other jewelry manufacturers, an own-and-rent practice then common in the jewelry industry and characteristic of neighboring contemporary buildings in the Jewelry District...

This one-of-a-kind desk accessory is rare and unique. An antique Victorian sterling silver wax seal with petrified tooth-form handle, Monogram EMQ, banding marked STERLING and 925/1000, American, C.1890. Size: 3 5/8" x 1/2"; Condition is excellent.

A Fine 19th Century 14K. GOLD POCKET WATCH, weight 18.37 gr., Manual mechanism, runs, round white enamel dial with Roman Numerals. Nicely engraved front and back with floral décor. Diameter 2.5 cm., with crown 4 cm. Intermediate cover is metal, not gold. Very nice condition.

A huge white bronze / early brass mortar of the finest execution, likely apothecary, incl. pestle, Northern Europe, ca. 1690.

Very decorative French Art Nouveau walking stick, c 1910. Forming the handle is a silver plated lady’s head with flowers in her hair and flowing tresses. Total length "36 / 92 cm.

18th / 19th century automatic phlegm, medical bloodletting tool, in its original case. It is said that George Washington had one like this in his First Aid Kit. Bloodletter measures overall length including blade 2", 1/2" wide and 1/8" height. The case measure approximately 2 7/8" long, 1 1/2" wide, and height 5/8".

This is a great stick featuring three ivory carved monkeys with glass eyes. This stick has great detail and has a monogram on one side that says Henry G. Schwarz 1006 Chestnut St. Phila. PA. Not sure if this refers to a store or a person. The sterling is marked Lyon Maker Sterling. This stick measures 35 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 1 1/4". The handle itself measures 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 1 1/4". The collar is 3/4" and the ferrule is 1".
