Carved two part handle with three carved racing horses, each with amber glass eyes. Cane with brass fittings and mahogany shaft. Handle: 2 1/8" H x 4 3/4" L x 1 1/2" W. An interesting antique staghorn walking stick with an excellently carved male head – a portrait? The partly dark and dotty structure of the horn is skilfully used to underline the grotesque character of the face. The stick was found in Sweden and the silver mounting between handle and stick bears hallmarks from Dalecarlia in Sweden and year mark for 1891. Measuring 2.75 inches in diameter by 3 inches high, this darling, circa 1890's, English, porcelain, double quill holder features a startled mother dove attempting to fend off a serpent about to devour the three eggs in her nest!

Likely Staffordshire, the quill holder features lovely polychrome coloration. Condition is wonderful with no chips, breaks, repairs, or repaints. Age crackling to glaze is evident along with a tiny stain on the dove's breast.

Pair of French heavy weight gilt bronze candlesticks with inkwell having banded agate cabochons. The agate stones were carefully cut with white stripe in the center of each stone to give the appearance of an "eye". Dating circa 1840, this desk set is in excellent condition and features a grape pattern. Candlesticks can be used separately when the occasion arises. In excellent condition, candlesticks are 8" high x 3 5/8" diameter. Inkwell measures 4.5" diameter 4.5" high.

A very nice Victorian inkwell in peacock blue glass. The front side is engraved with an ornate floral pattern. The lid has lapidary cutting around the edges and is engraved with the image of a dove in mid-flight and carrying a letter in its beak. Certainly, the suggestion is of a lovebird delivering a sentimental note! The lid is mounted with a brass hinge.
