This Classic Mayan mother-of-pearl figurine is 1 1/8" wide. It was found by Dr. Allen Heflin. Although I could not capture it in photos, it is nicely opalescent. It would make a very unusual jewelry finding. It is C300-900AD.

Maya Jade Head, 1 7/8 " by 7/8" . CA. 500 A.D. to 900 A.D. On custom made steel display stand. The head is an ovoid shape, pierced with an ancient drilled hole for suspension. The piece was carved in the round. Beautiful deep dark green on over 3/4 of the head encompassing the left, frontal and partial right side, with a light green on the remaining 1/4 on the right side. Ovoid form, with etched designs in bands, simple foliate and geometric designs, with textured backgrounds. The feet are delightful, three human legs with boots, a very unusual base. It sits slighlty askew, and has visible dents in body and on lid...

This very fine drilled 6 1/4" carved bone shawl or hair pin depicts three birds eating a large snake and is engraved on both sides. It is beautifully patinated.
