Ancient Pre-Columbian unusual effigy vessel with a burnished surface, Mesoamerican civilization, circa 300 BC-400 AD, Nayarit region.

Mexican Pre Columbian Tlatilco Terracotta Male Torso. This culture rarely depicted male figures making this quite unique. The culture flourished at the same time as the Olmecs in what is now Mexico city. Wonderful little figure c1200bc - 800 bc . Size 2.25" by 1.25" wide.

This is an extremely fine frame of bone artifacts which includes needles, awls, pendants, harpoons, spoon and arrowheads. The harpoons are from New England. I purchased the flute from Tom Davis. He said it was the best he had ever seen. Most are from Tom Davis, Gilbert Cooper and Michael Hough. The large center arrowhead is a deassentioned piece from a Colorado museum with COA and paperwork. A small Hopi Kachina Doll hand carved and painted by Wilson Tewaquaptewa circa 1930-1940, with chicken feathers. Tewaquaptewa (1871-1960) was the last chief of Old Oraibi. He produced Kachina dolls which are a combination of many dolls and figments of his own imagination. He believed that you didn't carve actual Kachinas for the tourist market. His dolls are usually monochromatic in color (brown, ochre and white and black). His use of symbols, painted on the case mask, seems to be arbitrary...

Pre-Columbian Sitting Female San Juanito – Jalisco figure. Circa. 300 B.C. – 300 A.D. Red and Black pigment on Buff. Tasseled ear pendent type. Size:11” x 6 ½ 5 ½

This is a very interesting Olmec jade maskette. It dates to 1200BC-600BC. It is 1 3/4" square. It is nicely scooped in the back. It has not been cleaned or polished. It is heavily encrusted with clay type material that will not come off with a pin prick. It does have splitting in several areas. However, the piece is solid and the cracks do not go all the way through. It is not translucent, but it is a very nice quality piece of jade...

Jalisco Pottery Ameca Female Figure. Mexico. Circa. 200 B.C. – 100 A.D. 7 5/8” x 6” . Need more sizes. Hollow pottery example. A medium seated Ameca style female figure, cream slip surface with traces of black painted decoration. Mineral deposits and root marks on the surface. Repaired form approximately six original pieces, left arm retached with breakline clearly visible with loss along breakline.

A fantastic and very rare massive ritual spearpoint in black obsidian, Pre-Columbian or early colonial Mexico, likely Aztec manifacture, 14th.-16th. century.

The spearpoint made of one full flaking block of obsidian, with central unknapped areas to use its full size.

Size: 48 cm. long and weighing c. 2,2 kilograms!

This outstanding frame of bone points are from the Columbia River, Oregon and are C700-1200. They were pictured in the Oregon Archaeological Society Magazine "Screenings" Volume 5 Number 6 on August 13, 1956. A copy of the article is included. They were recovered from the Wakemap Mound. The longest is 3". These are extremely rare bone items with beautiful patina.

This incredibly rare Olmec spoon is made from Robin's egg translucent blue jade. It has a perfect classic Olmec mouth which is very hard to find. These spoons were used for ceremonial snuffing of hallucinogenic substances by shamans. It is 4 1/4". It has beautiful patina and weathering is obvious. I purchased it from the famous collection of Michael Robbins from Santa Fe in 1992. The last picture is a spoon sold by Sotheby's several years ago. The hammer price was $330,000.
