NEW YORK WATCH Co. Providence, Rhode Island 1866-1875

In 1866 the name of this company was changed from the Mozart Watch Co. to the New York Watch Co. and was located in Rhode Island. Before any watches has been sold, they moved to Springfield, Mass. In 1867. A factory was built there, but only about 100 watches were produced before a fire occurred on April 23, 1870. Shortly after the fire, in 1870, a newly designed watch was introduced. A rare Qing dynasty 18th century Jiaqing mark and period underglaze blue and copper red large peach motif bowl, decorated with three period of peach motif at the exterior, inner center with flower motif, bowl is in good condition with small glaze nick at outer rim (please see piture detail), good high ping sound with finger tip, base with six character Jiaqing reign and of the period.

Flint EAPG goblet in the "Washington" pattern produced by the New England Glass Company. The clarity is excellent.

Origin: America, ca. 1860. Condition: no chips or cracks, normal frost wear on base. Size: 5-13/16" high.

Aesthetic sterling silver olive spoon. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1885. Cast stem with entwined leaf and olive. Shallow and pierced bowl with engraved leaves. At other end pick comprising graduated triangles. Butler finish. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 267. Very good condition with deep patina.

Decorated with dragons, fish, butterflies and long life characters, inlaid with glass beads. The enamels in green, red, purple and several shades of blue. This type of tiaras was worn by high ranking court ladies at the end of the Qing Dynasty. Size: W. 20 cm , H. 11 cm. Height including stand 38 cm.

A fine bronzeage weapon celt, North European bronzeage, later 2nd. mill. BC. Specimen probably from Northern Germany.

The celt with a loop in the side, fine sturdy design and probably made for warfare and not wood-carving.

Lovely 9 3/4" tall engraved sterling candlesticks by Goodnow & Jenks. These candlesticks have it all- a footed and beaded square base, a beaded square top, and unique engraving. One side is engraved with a wreath type motif with "1900" in the center. The other side has a monogram inside the wreath (possibly an HC). The base is well marked with a "G", a turtle, a "J", "Galt & Bros.", "Sterling", and "16". Goodnow & Jenks manufactured and sold sterling holloware in Boston from 1893-1905...

Ancient Egyptian faience cartouche plaque. One side is incised with an imitation of „Men-Kheper-Re“, the prenomen of the Pharaoh Tuthmosis III. The keeper sign is replaced with the Neith sign. The other side is incised with an animal of Seth, in front a lotus plant.
