This Yao necklace and matching pair of earrings have added beads and long silk tassels. Both are light weight and easy to wear. The earrings are hollow with the same repeated design pattern on the backside. The wire loop may be a bit thick as they were made to accommodate the large ear holes which are traditional for the Chinese minority groups. The Game of Thrones comes to mind when you look at this vintage 14Kt yellow gold, garnet and pearl cluster ring. The center is an eight millimeter high luster pink tinted bezel set cultured half pearl, and the six 8 X 6 millimeter oval faceted bezel set garnets encircle the pearl. The diameter of the ring is 26 millimeters, which is slightly larger than 1”. The ring is a size 6 ½ and it can easily be sized.

A substantial sterling silver chain composed of doubled rings, bars and beads with connecting links; there is a central ring for attaching a pendant, or the chain can be worn as is. The secure box clasp bears what appears to be the maker’s mark of Beto, as pictured in Bille Hougart’s Mexican silver marks book, third edition, p. 27.
