Rare modernist earrings by Irvin and Bonnie Burkee, a husband and wife team who created unique jewelry in their studio from the late 1940s until the 1970s. The minimalist aesthetic sterling silver earrings are circa 1950s, and feature discs each decorated by a single silver sphere. The earrings are screw-backs, and the tops measure .75" in diameter. Signed "Sterling, Burkee." Excellent vintage condition.

These earrings are very well made: an indicator of the fine Hobe work. The overlapping petals have nice stamp work around the bezel-set, turquoise, glass cabochon. The earrings are both clipback and screwback. They are gold plated and marked Hobe. They are in excellent condition.

Constructionist brooch by important jewelry maker Sam Kramer, who produced avant-guarde jewelry in his New York based shop in the 1950s. This interesting piece consists of two arked triangular shaped pieces, which move freely on a tall silver bar. This allows the pieces to move up, down, and side to side, but not to move out of the crossed configuration. Corretly signed with Kramer's distinctive mushroom hallmark as shown. Mid-century silver and amethyst ring by Mexican Master silversmith Antonio Pineda. One of his very recognizable designs, perhaps you are fortunate and have the necklace, bracelet or earrings that match this ring. It is a size 5 1/2 - 6, weighs 11 grams, and is in fine original condition. There are no chips or cracks to the amethysts. There are inclusions under the surface of the stones as typical of amethyst. Signed as shown. Everything Antonio Pineda created is a masterpiece.

These teardrop-shaped earrings feature purple, grey, violet and black feathers enclosed between pieces of resin or a clear composite. A cut-out zigzag design reveals the feathers through the sterling silver frame. The earrings show some tarnish; they have not been aggressively cleaned to avoid damaging the inserts. The screwbacks are in good working order; one exhibits the eagle 3 mark for Mexican sterling, the other, an unidentified geometrical maker’s mark...

Wonderfully designed hand made necklace by MAYA, Mexico, c.1950's after a Hubert Harmon design. Maya frequently copied Harmon designs. Looks just like silver with a great patina, but probably made of silver plate because there are no Mexican silver marks. The locking mechanism is separated from the main part by black velvet ribbon. Of large scale, the largest irregular square measures 2" wide by 1 3/4" high and the necklace measures 15 1/2" around...

Six silver panels frame embossed, hand-painted porcelain panels, in a style very popular during the 1950s and early 1960s. They depict four chrysanthemums and two orchids, in shades of pink and purple, white, yellow centers all on black backgrounds. Signed by Hector Aguilar this "Mask" parure is known to be designed by Valentin Vidauretta. When you look at two links side by side they form a mask. The link is 6/8th's inch tall with the parure weighing 91 grams. The silver is thick and speaks volumes with it's sleek presence. Classic Haskell--great design and top quality material--this brooch was probably designed by Frank Hess for Miriam Haskell. Glowing, translucent red stones, red and purple rhinestones, clear rose montees and molded turquoise glass stones comprise this beautiful piece. Double level filigree back with oval signature plate. 3 1/2" wide, 1 1/2" high and very chunky.

Little squared pieces of very luminescent black opal doublet make up this beautiful pair of 14k cufflinks, c.1950's. Of good size, they each measure 13/16" by 9/16" and are signed "14K". This amazing bracelet is one of Antonio Pineda's most important and impressive designs and is often referred to as the "Cage" Bracelet. Crafted in Antonio's favored 970 grade silver it is a massive piece measuring 7 1/2" long by 1 1/2" wide at the front tapering to 1" at the back and it weighs an impressive 134.4 grams.
