This sterling silver & blue Nevada turquoise belt buckle was designed & signed circa 1950's by Native American Hopi designer Preston Monongye (1927-87). Buckle measures 3" X 2" & weighs 74 grams, 2.6 oz. The large Burnham turquoise nugget measures 1 1/2" X 1" and is in perfect condition. Monongye's 1950 hallmark is impressed on the reverse. Antonio Pineda Smokey quartz love knot is shown in the book Silver Seduction by Gobi Stomberg. The mounting is made with thick silver and the faceted stone is large at 1in. tall and .75in. across. The facets are beautifully cut and the stone glows with gold sparks. The pictures in no way capture the stones fire. The pendant weighs a total of 45 grams.
