Extraordinary patriotic World War II era “V for Victory” brooch in 14K yellow gold set with sapphires and pearls. This Los Castillo design 262 is an early one created when Margot Van Voorhies was married to Don Antonio Castillo. I believe these early pieces are the very best of her work. Stunning in size with an almost 2 inches of height and a weight of 84 grams of almost pure 980 silver. The condition reflects no damage and also well cared for over time. The diameter is 2.25 inches with the gap set at 1in. This can be professionally adjusted for most to fit. One of the best from the Spratling Era.

Large mixed metal fish pin by Rafael Dominguez, Mexico, 1943. Primarily made of 960 silver, there are copper and brass inset accents "marrying" the metals. Wonderful pin measures 3 3/8" long by 2 1/8" wide and is signed "RD 960". This impressive 2 3/4" sterling silver cuff studded with 30 amethyst cabs was hallmarked c. 1940 by Manuel Altamirano, senior silversmith in Hector Aguilar's Taller Borda. Interior length measures 5 1/2" end to end. The gap opening is 1 1/2". Terminals measure 2 3/4" wide, center front is 2 1/2" wide. Weight 79 grams. The bracelet is in beautiful condition. A fine vintage 14K white gold bypass style diamond fashion ring, c 1940-1950. The top of each shoulder is set with three 2.4mm, round single cut diamonds that are Sl1-Sl2 in clarity and H-J in color. Centered, raised and prong set, are three modern round brilliant cut diamonds that measure 3.5mm, 3.7mm, and 3.5mm. All are the Sl clarity range and G-K in color. Combined diamond weight of the ring is 0.77 cts. Size-7 1/2; Excellent condition.

A heart shape hand carved shell cameo set on a gilt wooden frame. The 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" 1930s cameo has lovely carving and the frame measures 5-7/8" x 4-3/4". The cameo is mounted on blue velvet and this decorative item is ready to hang on a wall. An interesting presentation for an unset genuine cameo. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a couple of minor and small scrapes to the paint on the frame...

I have had this mod Taxco bracelet a few times over the years - also in ring, earrings and brooch form. And I never tire of it! The example at hand is signed by maestro Moreno and it has the beguiling sculpturality that makes the design memorable. Two perfectly crafted silver spheres sitting on stylized leaves - that is all yet it is so much more. Gutsy, slick and eye-catching at the same time - definitely a bracelet for the daring among us...

A geometric silver bracelet from Mexico with seven bezel set dome shaped stones. The stones range in color from tan to pale green, not sure what they are.

Marked Silver Mexico. Measures 7 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide. Hook clasp holds securely. Has some minor surfaces scratches and a little tarnish.

Striking design. Great hand wrought feel. Early piece.

Completely handmade, this sterling silver pin is formed similar to a stylized sprig of lily-of-the-valley. It also bears an engraved inscription on the back that reads: “Anna F. Davies/The College Settlement of Philadelphia/1898-1941.” Davies was a founder of the settlement movement, and ran this settlement house during those years. The pin is also marked sterling and has a secure safety catch. It measures 3 1/8 inches long by about 1 inch wide. Weight: 19.5 grams

Rope designs were used exclusively in Spratling's 1st design period, 1931-46. This amethyst & 980 sterling pendant measures 2" X 1 3/4" X 1 3/8". The box is suspended by a heavy sterling Spratling chain measuring 24" long. Both box and chain are in beautiful condition. The circular clasp is tight and secure. Fully hallmarked WS 980 TAXCO. Rare and spectacular sterling bangle bracelet with inlaid black onyx polka dots by Los Ballesteros circa 1945. This big, bold , amazing piece measures 7" around in the inside total. It is 1 1/2" wide at the widest front section and tapers to 3/4" in the back. It is hinged and opens and closes on the side. Weighing 116 grams, it is in fine original condition and signed as shown...

A beautifully executed pin that features a bezel-mounted oval dyed green chalcedony or chrysoprase, surrounded by a layer of leafy flowers and berries. This layer is composed of cast pieces individually applied to a serpentine wirework frame reminiscent of late arts and crafts design; dating would be 1930s or 1940s. The pin has a lovely patina from age and the stone retains its highly polished surface, exhibiting hardly any wear. The rollover clasp is very secure...

These Mexican cuff links are unmarked but their design featuring a Precolumbian-style figure indicates their origin. They are also marked 980 on the backs of one side, a silver content consistent with Mexican jewelry. They are likely from the 1930s to 1950. The larger button measures ¾ inch in diameter. Amethyst sterling screwback earrings by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1947. They each have a cabochon amethyst which measures 3/4" in diameter. They are appropriately signed. One of the stones has a natural fracture(see photo #1) which is very highlighted in the ENLARGED photo #1, but does not appear that way in person.
