A scarce World War I era 60" patinated metal and purple cut glass fan or watch chain circa 1915. Unsigned but possibly English, it was common for jewelry at this time to be blackened or patinated so as to avoid flashing and glinting, which could have been seen by the enemy fliers at night. World War I planes were smaller and flew lower, so moonlight reflecting on jewelry allowed people to be seen...

This stickpin features a burnt orange or caramel-colored oval carnelian – yummy!. It is set in (stamped) 10kt gold and surrounded by an oval gold frame set with 4 seed pearls. The setting measures 13/16” x 1/2", and the whole thing is 2-3/8" long. Circa 1915. The pin has a little bit of a bend toward the top, typical of gold stick pins and not visible when it’s worn, of course. Otherwise in excellent antique condition. A very attractive pair of 14K yellow gold double-sided cufflinks, the faces set with blister pearls, by Carrington. The pearls have very lustrous surfaces with good iridescence and are simply set in gold frames. These cufflinks would look particularly good worn with a dark shirt. The backs are stamped with Carrington's 14K gold mark.

A 14k twin antique cut diamonds ring pre 1920. This size 7 ring measures 5/16" along the diamonds which are high mounted and claw-set. The antique cut diamonds are approximately 8 points each by gauge and one diamond is white and the other a cinnamon colour. This ring weighs 1.5 grams and it is stamped 14K with an AWA maker's mark. This Victorian bangle bracelet has an elaborate filigree of twining leaves,flowers and grapes on the front. I believe this bracelet is brass covered in dore gold color. The bracelet has a push clasp and closes securely. No evidence of corrosion or repairs. Excellent condition.

A well crafted sterling silver brooch by the Chicago silversmith Bjarne Meyer. Beautifully hand hammered silver. Bjarne Meyer later worked for Georg Jensen, USA.

Measures almost 2" across and 1 1/4" high.

Marked Sterling and Handwrought by Bjarne. Has an intricate three dimensional repousse floral design and a central turquoise cabochon.

In fine condition with minor tarnish. Rollover clasp holds securely.

Interesting combination of Edwardian design of sapphires with rose diamonds in a 14k white filigree gold ring setting, c.1915. Rose diamonds are not usually found during this period, but are used here in this lovely ring. The are 3 hand set dark blue sapphires (1.4 carats) and 40 small rose diamonds(approx. .70 carats). A delicate trace link gold chain with faceted synthetic amethysts and freshwater pearls. The four stones are collet-set with open back. There is a slight blemish on the table of one amethyst and the chain may have been shortened. The pearls are not perfectly matched and show light wear. Marked 15c on the spring clasp. Both chain and settings are guaranteed gold. Length 22" ~ weight 6.8 grams.

This pretty pin combines the styles of Art Nouveau and Edwardian jewelry. We are attributing it to Whiteside & Blank, although it’s unsigned (not unusual for the time), since it’s remarkably similar to another piece by them. The pin consists of a gold framework enameled in very pale green – almost white - in a formal Edwardian key pattern. In the middle is a sprig of gold leaves with a pearl berry; the stem twines around the framework...

Here is an English-made whistle of copper-plated brass and base metal, that may have been made for the U.S. market. The front is labeled ‘The Acme/Boy Scouts’ with the English registration number for 1914, and ‘Patent’ underneath.
