One of my favorite insect designs in the world of vintage Mexican silver jewelry, this “machine age” dragonfly is known as a Los Castillo creation yet here it is signed by a “less celebrated” Taxco maestro. What first attracted me to this creature is its “industrial”, perforated wings that make the dragonfly look more delicate but awe-inspiring at the same time. A vintage pair of sterling silver screw back earrings by Victoria Taxco, (Ana Nunez Brilanti), number 449.

Measure 1 1/4" high and 7/8" across. Marked with Victoria Taxco and Mexico on the back of one earring and 449 , Sterling and Eagle #12 on the back of the other.

Fine condition. Screw backs hold securely.

Hard to find design.

A vintage sterling silver bangle bracelet by American Modernist jeweler, Ronald Hayes Pearson with a curved and angled design. Can be worn with the curves facing front or sideways.

Measures between 8 and 8 1/2" around the inside. Measures 2 1/2" in diameter and 1/2" at the widest. Hard to get an exact measurement due to the curves. Slides onto my average size wrist easily.

Signed Pearson Sterling. In very nice condition with minor surface scratches...

Made in the 1960s, this vintage Mexican sterling silver bracelet consists of figural disks developing in a row defined by lengths of double-woven, thick chain. I have seen this combination featuring three different kinds of disk designs. While here we have depictions of the country's history as well as symbols of its old religion (a jaguar warrior portrait, Quetzalcoatl, Mexico's state Eagle) the specific bracelet design can be found with Mexican coins or representations of the zodiac cycle...

This is a Mexican Designer piece from a Maryland Estate. The FISH measures 1 3/4" X 1 15/16". Clearly marked METALES CASADOS on the back; good Heavier Silver Jewelry... not the flimsy material that abounds in the marketplace

An Arts and Crafts style sterling silver pendant necklace with an intricate etched design and a bezel set dark purple cabochon, (maybe Amethyst). The bezel is gold colored and may be 14K but untested.

Marked Sterling and with a hallmark of intertwined symbols on the back of the pendant.

The pendant measures 1 1/2" long and 1" across the top. The pendant is folded over for a three dimensional effect. Currently suspended from a chain that is 16" long...

A Victorian 1-3/4" 9k yellow gold horseshoe good luck pin or brooch with seed pearls dated 1886. This fine pin has a c-clasp, it weighs 1.9 grams, it is hallmarked (partially obscured), it tests as 9 carat gold and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use...

A sterling silver abstract brooch by the MCM jeweler and sculpter, Joseph Skinger, (1911-1967). He was active in Vermont in the 1950s and 60s, working primarily in silver. Known for his modernist 'Slalom' ring.

This brooch measures 2 1/8" long and 1" at the widest. Marked Sterling Skinger.

This could also be worn as a pendant with a chain or cord laced through the curled top as shown.

In fine condition. There is a very slight bend near the clasp, probably done during production...

This is a STERLING COROCRAFT ENAMEL BIRD PIN from a Florida Estate. The size of this PIN is 1 15/16" X 1 13/16" and the Primary color is Blue with Gold and Red highlights. The Body is decorated with Pave Clear Rhinestones. Marked on the back: Coro Craft/ STERLING. Add to the Designer STERLING Collection

An abstract design, the pendant is set with what appears to be blue indicolite, which is a type of tourmaline, or blue jade. It is marked sterling on the reverse. The chain is composed of linked sterling edged rods, and is marked Italy and sterling on the flattened jump ring. One rod is slightly bent. The entire clasped necklace measures 18 inches long; the pendant is 3 inches long by 2 3/8 inches wide.

An interesting hand wrought ring in copper with two brass overlaid wires by JB Pericles. Marked Pericles Haiti on the back. Currently a size 7 but is adjustable.

Jean Baptist Pericles was closely associated with Winifred Mason Chenet d'Haiti who trained the exceptional jeweler, Art Smith.

This ring has some tarnish.

A substantial sterling silver necklace with interlocking block links alternating with molded cuboid elements. The cuboids or rectangular blocks bear impressed, oxidized linear patterns on all sides, giving the piece a sense of depth. It is secured with a lobster clasp that is marked 925 for sterling silver, and the necklace also tests definitively for sterling. Unclasped, the chain measures 30 in. long. Weight: 64 grams

Three pieces of modernist sterling jewelry by noted Vermont jeweler, Luella C. Schroeder, (1918-2004), who worked at the Cranbrook Institute before going off on her own to open a jewelry studio are available. They may be purchased individually or in any combination.

A vintage sterling silver hammered money clip made by the Gaylord Silvercraft in Wallingford, CT. The Gaylord Farm Sanitarium was active from 1923-1944 and was organized by William Waldo Dodge.

Measures about 2 3/8" long and 1" wide. Marked Sterling, Hand Wrought and with an impressed upright hammer flanked by two wings for the maker. It currently has a 'G' monogram, but could probably be buffed out.

Fine work, quality piece.

This lovely American sterling silver and enamel cross exhibits an elaborately scrolled edge and vibrant green enamel. The cross and chain date from at least c. 1915 but could be older. The chain is original and made of flattened, rectangular links; there is no clasp. It tests definitively for silver. The enamel decoration on the cross is intact, and bears the usual minor flaws of handwork...

This Coro Pegasus dancing donkey is gold plated base metal with rhinestones. It is 1 3/4" x 1 7/8". Free fist class USPS shipping. It is circa 1945.
