The wonderful gold medal won by James Ephraim Narraway at the 1929 tournament of the Correspondence Chess League of America (CCLA). The medal features a black and white enameled chessboard surrounded by a laurel wreath and surmounted by a crown. The back is engraved “C.C.L.A. 1929 Leaderhip ‘A’ 1st Prize Won By J. E Narraway.” The medal was likely originally attached to a neck ribbon, but would be really nice worn today as a pendant or on a chunky charm bracelet...

A handsome pair of mid-century 18K yellow gold cufflinks, the faces collet-set with rectangular tablet-cut pyrope-almandite garnets. Garnets such as these are typically very dark, but these stones have superb clarity and a lively deep orangy-red color. The fine engraving on the gold surface beneath the garnets shows through and imparts just a bit of sparkle. The toggle backs are fully stamped with French 18K gold marks.

A nice 18K rose gold Sputnik ring by H Stern in a desirable smaller size. The dome is bezel-set with nineteen round citrines, amethysts, pink and green tourmalines, garnets and aquamarines. An interesting pair of 18K yellow gold baton style cufflinks, the faces set with oval blue sapphires. The sapphires are bezel-set for a clean, classic look. The sapphires have a strong, dark blue color and do not show signs of heat treatment. The toggle backs are stamped with French 18K gold marks.

A heavy pair of 14K gold cufflinks, the faces decorated with a sort of shield-shaped device against a stippled background. The influence of the Art Nouveau aesthetic can be seen in the assymetrical design of the shields. The semi-matte finish of the stippling contrasts nicely with the more polished shield. The backs marked "14K" and have Kirby's hallmark.

A delightful pair of Art Nouveau daisy stud earrings, the petals formed from Mississippi River pearls arranged around a textured gold disc representing the flower's seed head. Today we have a vintage Mexican silver parure made by Maestro Sigi Pineda. Sigi has had a long career in handmade jewelry within the Spratling era. His work is heavy, made with excellent stones as this parure also has. Circa 1940's, this large brooch is said to be named after Spratling's parrot "Lorenzo". It's a huge and spectacular pin, measuring 4 1/2" tall and 1 3/16" wide, with a weight of 49.4 grams.

This left facing parrot has a 1 1/2" long amethyst body and exquisite repoussé silver work. Pin closes with a roller. All original and collector quality.
