A pair of vintage modernist sterling silver pieces by the noted Mid Century silversmiths from Norway, Else & Paul Hughes: a combination brooch/pendant and/or a 'U' shaped brooch. Else Berntsen and Paul Hughes were part of the Studio Silver Movement in Norway in the early 1960's.

These pieces may be purchased separately or as a pair.

The smaller one can be worn as a brooch or pendant. It is made of oxidized textured sterling and measures 1 3/4" across and 1 7/8" high...

A striking Modernist take on a traditional 18K gold floral brooch. The stark thorn-like arrangement, enhanced with Akoya pearls, has an almost brutalist style. The gold surfaces are stippled to create a matte texture that contrasts with the polished gold of the small ribbon at the base. The pearls are nice quality with ivory body color. The brooch looks equally stylish worn as a pendant. The back is stamped "18K" and has an unidentified maker's mark.

A 14k yellow gold double row diamonds ring from the 1960s. This size 6-1/4 ring features two rows of 9 diamonds in a simple but elegant 3/4 x 1/4" setting. This ring weighs 3.8 grams, the diamonds are 2 points each (by gauge) and it is stamped 14K with a circled J maker's mark. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs...

A 10k white gold pearl, sapphires and diamonds ring from the 1960s. This size 5-3/4 ring features a central 6 mm. cultured pearl with creamy pink lustre and it is surrounded by 2.5 point blue sapphires and this ring has five single point diamonds adding some flash. The sapphires are tested and well matched however we can't confirm whether they have been treated or not. The attractive setting measures 5/8 x 1/2", this ring weighs 3.2 grams and it has remnants of a mark (it tests as 10k)...

Formed as palm fronds, with one folded toward the back, this simple pin was designed by Gertrud Engel for Anton Michelsen. It bears the ‘Rougie’ mark on the back, which likely refers to the design or the collection line. Engel specialized in naturalistic designs based on Danish coastal flora. This pin has a secure rollover clasp and measures 2 1/8 inches long by 1 inch wide. An identical pin is pictured in Ginger Moro's book "European Designer Jewelry." Weight: 5.3 grams

A vintage modernist heavy sterling silver pendant with a large bezel set faceted rock crystal by the well known Swedish silversmith Ove Urban Bohlin, OUB.

The pendant measures 2 5/8" long including the bale and 1 3/4" across. Marked OUB, Swedish standard mark, U9 for 1970 and a script signature.

Amazing vintage pair of genuine natural ruby earrings with diamonds set in 14k yellow gold. Each earring features 21 marquise cut (7pts each) prong set rubies, and 6 round cut diamonds, with the rubies having a total of 1.47 ctw per earring. In pristine condition, these pierced earrings measure 5/8 inches long and have a 1” drop (including earring) and hang perfectly (see 2nd photo). The color is excellent and uniform with the diamonds giving a nice sparkle...

A massive, amazing vintage bracelet in 970 silver with 6 cabachon amethysts by Antonio Pineda. The randomly placed stones are deeply set into the silver and appear to be almost floating. The cuff measures 5 1/4" around in the inside plus an additional 1 1/2" opening. It is 2 3/4" wide at all points and weighs 177 grams. This is a heavy bracelet but remarkably comfortable on. This piece is truly a show stopper and I believe to be quite rare...

Composed of wood beads that are dyed red, wire-mounted on a pewter bar and from chain swags. The photos show the red as a fire-engine red; the beads actually are darker, more of a maroon. Photo 3 is the closest to the actual color. It is a sizable brooch, but lightweight, and secured on the back by a modified C-clasp. This graceful sterling silver ring is formed as a stylized snake with an impressed band starting at the head and tapering to the tail. The impressed area is nicely oxidized and decorated with contrasting circular elements, one of which serves as the snake's eye. The patina is soft and is nicely enhanced by the oxidation. Iconic design for Antonio Pineda with a 17in. wearable and made with a quality 166 grams of 970 silver. Properly hallmarked as shown with no damage and a secure stringing. When I have looked at pictures in my past I always thought this was a huge wide piece. It is actually a tasteful .75in. width to the bottom link at 1.5in. tall. Don't be afraid to give it a try just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

This sophisticated, cleanly designed ring features an onyx cabochon mounted in the center of a carnelian disc, set in 14kt gold. Both stones are in lovely condition; the gold band is unmarked, but has been tested for gold content. The ring dates from the 1960s, and has a classy, "mod" look that reads mid- to late 1960s. A signed ORIGINAL BY ROBERT 3-7/8 x 2-1/2" large green enamel flower pin c1950s-60s. The cuff is made from thick sterling with a molten like texture. Measures 6" around with an opening of 1". Measures 1 1/8" at the widest. This size can not be adjusted.

Marked 925S, KVA, Danmark and with the AM hallmark of Anton Michelsen. Note that Denmark is spelled Danmark, so not originally for export.

Fine condition, dark patina. Feels great on!
