Exquisite Matl Salas Mexican silver, coral and turquoise brooch, I believe this piece to have been made in the years following Matilde Poulat’s death in 1960 based on the quality of the materials used and the high level of craftsmanship. Maestro Salas, Matl’s nephew, worked alongside his aunt for most of Matilde’s career and upon her demise, he (and later his family) took over the workshop and continued making jewelry based on Poulat’s designs...

A spectacular example of Austro-Hungarian Renaissance Revival jewelry from the period 1876-1918, this necklace features a central pendant drop in the form of a leaping stag suspended by pearl-enhanced chains from a neckchain of sapphire- and ruby-set plaques. The necklace is enameled throughout in shades of opaque white and black, and translucent green, red and purple. The stag is decorated with realistic shaded brown and gold enamels. The stag is set with a sapphire- and ruby-encrusted saddle...

A nice patina silver belt and gilt gold buckle worn by Peranakan straits Chinese during their wedding ceremony
Los Castillo's fern clamper is simply the best. No other leaf can compare. The weight is heavy at 101 grams. The height is 3.75 inches. For fit the inside diameter is 2.5 in. I believe this will best fit up to a 6.5in. wrist. There are no dents, damage or repairs. The leaves meet exactly where they are supposed to with no overlap. A superior treasure.
An extremely fine and rare Georgian 12K gold bracelet featuring a large rectangular plaque of landscape agate flanked by seven smaller rectangular plaques. With only a little imagination, the central panel appears to represent a grouping of trees in front of distant mountains, while the smaller plaques seem more like tree-covered islands in a calm lake...
In the 1960s and 1970s, Ciner specialized in costume jewelry inspired by the enameled gold and jeweled figural animal designs of the fine jewelry maker
David Webb (these days Roberto Cavalli is the contemporary master of the costume version of this look). This piece is circa 1975. It is marked
CINER, but so faintly on the tongue of the clasp that I was unable to get a clear photo. It did come from an estate with other signed Ciner pieces...
Extraordinary patriotic World War II era “V for Victory” brooch in 14K yellow gold set with sapphires and pearls...
Margot van Voorhies Carr designed this pre-Colombian double swirl and her taller Margot de Taxco created this absolute to die for necklace. It is so beautiful it was chosen as the COVER DESIGN for the book WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penney C. Morrill. Definitely a favorite of mine being 1 14/16th wide (for all intent and purpose you can call it 2 inches wide) and 21in. long. The actual wearable size due to its width is a comfortable 17in. The presence displayed is si...
