Very delicate 10K yellow gold pin set with a collet-set square-cut synthetic ruby. The linear design and the geometric shape of the stone show the beginnings of Art Deco influence. Similarly, the use of a synthetic stone is common in jewelry of the period. Even makers such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpel used synthetics. Marked "10K".

Origin: America, circa 1935. Condition: excellent, except for a chip on one corner of the stone; all original. Size: 3/8" x 1-1/16".

This classic jewel consists of a circle of gold, enameled in cobalt blue, with gold highlights. A 3-looped bow is interlaced through it, decorated with tiny seed pearls, as are the bail and dropper. There are a couple very minor flaws in the enamel - invisible without magnification. It is stamped for 15kt gold, and the gold has that lovely rich color we rarely see these days. There is a place on the back where it looks as though someone made a repair, but of course it’s not visible when worn...

This necklace has a classic form and, in certain light, looks to be plated in two colors of gold. The beautiful surface condition is a result of a rolled gold-plating process used by the Newark, NJ, firm of Krementz & Company. The exotic design is reminiscent of ethnic jewelry, composed of graduated pointed vertical drops alternating with ovular beads. A braided chain with spike and drum closure completes the retro design. The Krementz signature in block letters is on the back of one drop...

Part of an assembled demi parure the bracelet of which I will be presenting in the next couple of days, this sterling silver Danish necklace is one of Jensen’s classic designs. Elegance and impeccable craftsmanship defy the whims of time and fashion and here we have a piece of jewelry that falls under that magical category. These earlier creations of Jensen’s retain the soft, silky sculpturality of Danish Skønvirke work and the patina the silver develops over time only enhances that quality...

Quintessential Art Deco! 104 grams! At ~ 27", longer would be too heavy. 12mm frosted glass or crystal faceted beads resembling camphor glass, while the faceted "French jet" black beads are wafers, bicones, rhondells and 18mm discs for a very, very Art Deco look. These are wired in place; no cord here to break! Old filigree hook box clasp. Teenie flea bites ARE expected for this type of necklace and age. Perhaps this was once a 60" flapper (>200 grams!?) necklace, and the poor girl tiring...
