A modernist sterling silver smoky quartz cabs pin from the 1950s. This retro vintage gilt sterling silver pin measures 2-3/8" x 1-1/4". It has a great high style modern angular design. It features claw-set genuine smoky quartz cabochon stones and it is stamped STERLING with a facing double R maker's mark. It weighs 11.1 grams, and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.

A modernist 830 silver ring with a brutalist design from Sweden. Has 5 square shaped cut outs and contrasting textures across the top. The top is a raised disk that sits on 2 arms and measures 7/8" across.
Currently measures size 7, but is adjustable.
Marked with the three crowns national mark, 830 for the silver content and S for the silver standard.
Has minor tarnish. There are two tiny cut marks on the back of the shank.
Quality piece. Fine modernist design.

It is always vexing when a hallmark eludes identification and this is (almost) the case with the towering vintage silver ring at hand. Brutalist in design, having a big, semi-translucent chrysoprase cabochon nested in its elevated setting, it bears a partial hallmark which has been suggested to me is probably a maker’s mark from Spain. Home of renowned modernist designers such as Joachim S’Paliu and Puig Doria, Spain sounds like a plausible place of origin for our 1970s ring...

Here is a nice Norwegian pendant from David-Andersen in a stylized spade shape, decorated with a pattern of impressed and textured half-circles. According to an internet source, it was designed by Toril Bjorg for David-Andersen in 1977. It is well marked on the back, and measures 2 inches long by 1 1/4 inches at its widest part. Weight: 15.4 grams
This handmade abstract pin features a biomorphic design composed of a slice of translucent banded carnelian with an unpolished edge, secured within a biomorphic frame of thick, hand-wrought sterling silver wire. It is unsigned and bears only a sterling mark. A rollover clasp secures the pin. The stone is in lovely condition, and is held in place by small silver bands applied across the front and back frames; there is no adhesive. The pin measures 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches.
