This past year seems to have been a Carmen Beckmann year for One Good Eye Silver. And even though I cannot claim it was because of planning, it has not been entirely out of luck either. One of the few female contributors to Mexico’s 20th c Silver Renaissance that we know of, Beckmann’s jewelry are works of a confident designer, impeccably finished and at her best moments, incredibly creative as well...

Signed by a listed “middle period” Taxco maestro primarily known for his repousse work, this 1950s carved azur-malachite and sterling “mask” pendant necklace is as stunning as it is unexpected. Dark blues, deep greens and earthy browns add depth and gravity to the stone, making the ancient figure’s features as stern in sleep as they must have been in that life lived centuries ago...

An iconic bracelet from Georg Jensen, this is his design #14. Hand-wrought with exquisite repoussé silver work, this piece is composed of four panels. Measures a closed, wearable length of 6 7/8", with a 7/8" width. Weight is 44.3 grams. Signed and hallmarked with a post 1945 Georg Jensen with a dotted circle, Denmark, Sterling, with the design #14. In excellent vintage condition with a warm patina.

Calling the vintage Mexican silver and black stone "mask" ring I am presenting here massive is not an exaggeration. It is not just the actual ring size (9.5 US) that makes it so; it is also the textured, solid setting, quite masculine in design, and the beautifully carved, stupendous effigy it houses. I am not sure what the stone is - I think it might be onyx but it could also be black agate. I am fascinated by its opaque gravity and the way its satin finish invites the touch...

Vintage 1970s drop clip earrings in iridescent transparent purple glass mounted in dark brass tone metal. Marked MADE IN FRANCE. The drops have embedded brass wire and hang from fine brass chains. This cool ring is adjustable in size (to size 9). It is sterling silver with 3 abstract flowers buds: turquoise, quartz, onyx, tiger's eye and a red stone -- cabs. The band is marked: TAXCO MEXICO (in a circle) with S?C in the middle. It is also marked with #3 assay mark. The ring is really quite pretty and in excellent condition.

A pair of 14k yellow gold 3/4 x 7/16" pierced hoop earrings from the 1980s. These vintage earrings have hinged posts, they are stamped 585 on the posts and they weigh 1.0 grams. A great gift idea for your favourite girl or woman. They are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. Really fabulous vintage long clip earrings in heavy cast goldtone metal with poured glass beads in jewel colors of blue, red, green, iridized gray, and amber, with goldtone beads, and red poured glass beads at the tops, with opaque gold rhinestones. Part of an assembled demi parure the bracelet of which I will be presenting in the next couple of days, this sterling silver Danish necklace is one of Jensen’s classic designs. Elegance and impeccable craftsmanship defy the whims of time and fashion and here we have a piece of jewelry that falls under that magical category. These earlier creations of Jensen’s retain the soft, silky sculpturality of Danish Skønvirke work and the patina the silver develops over time only enhances that quality...

This ring made by Erik Granit & Co of Finland has a sleek and modest design. The garnet is sawtooth-set. The shank is marked "E. GRANIT & Co DESIGN JEWELLRY." The other side is signed "EG" (stylized maker's mark), "925H," boat (for Helsinki), "R7" (for 1970) and "925 STERLING FINLAND." It is a size 6 and is in excellent condition.

Spectacular long sautoir necklace in dark silvertone metal with navette marquise shaped cabochon glass rhinestones in dark jewel tones, alternating with brilliant small multi color stones, with a hook and eye clasp. All stones are prong set. 1960s or 1970s. Probably an unsigned Schreiner piece, based on the hook and eye close, the metal color, the variety and quality of the stones, and the over the top design. Amazing length -- 64 inches wearable length and just under 5/8 inch wide...

Fabulous signed Gucci goldtone metal and blue guilloche enameled link long necklace which can also be worn as a belt. Marked GUCCI and MADE IN ITALY. Each link is also marked S in a lozenge shape. 1970s. An iconic vintage Gucci piece, these were also made in shorter (18 to 20 inch) but otherwise identical versions to be worn as necklaces only. The enameled links are slightly convex and curved. They alternate with heavy twisted connecting rings. With a toggle close. Total length is 39 inches...

Beautiful modernist signed Yves Saint Laurent beaded bib necklace with a large goldtone metal center element with a hammered texture, and very large cabochon glass stones simulating banded agate and garnets. With marbled Lucite beads simulating carved carnelian. Constructed in classic French couture fashion, with the beads strung on fine goldtone metal chains, allowing the strands to drape gracefully and flexibly...

Simply stunning and very dimensional collar or bib necklace in colorless Lucite strung on monofilament. With a metal hook and extender chain of metal wired Lucite beads. Circa 1970, in the style of Coppola e Toppo. Possibly Italian. Small beads alternating with large beads are strung in raised arches. Very large faceted drops alternate with large bead drops. The design is very complex and dimensional and the photos do not do justice...

Stunning vintage necklace in YSL's signature bohemian chic style, with seamless black Lucite beads, goldtone metal beads and drops, and black silk tassels, all strung on a fine metal chain in typical French construction. Outstanding vintage necklace in heavy gunmetal gray chain links with quatrefoil shaped elements which are made of translucent tortoise Bakelite. This piece can also be worn as a belt. Marked YSL on an attached metal tag. 1970s. The quatrefoil form is of course a classic medieval and Moorish motif and is here translated into a stunning modern look.
