This cool ring is a size 8. It has a great design. The is 1/2" wide. It is marked J & SS, has the Lion Passant mark indicating silver, the town mark indicating London and the cursive, uppercase D mark indicating 1978. It has good heft and is in excellent condition.

Today we have a vintage Mexican silver parure made by Maestro Sigi Pineda. Sigi has had a long career in handmade jewelry within the Spratling era. His work is heavy, made with excellent stones as this parure also has. The obsidian is extreme sheen on the necklace and you may see silver dots that sparkle on the other pictures which is the camera reacting to the sheen in less light. An imposing 18K yellow gold hinged bangle bracelet set with sapphires and diamonds. A row of alternating old mine cut diamonds and cushion cut sapphires stretches across the top of the bracelet, flanked on either side by a row of rose cut diamonds set in silver. The sapphires, each of about .75 carat, are of outstanding quality, with vibrant pure blue coloring, eye-clean clarity, and a velvety appearance. The diamonds, each of about .6 carat, are graded as G/SI1...

A modernist sterling silver brooch with a black orb by Sigi Pineda. The orb may be onyx.

Measures 2 7/8" long and almost 1/2" at the widest. Marked on the back Sigi Tasco, Hecho en Mexico, Sterling, 81, and Eagle #3. Also marked with what looks like design number 304.

Safety rollover clasp holds securely. In very nice condition. Has a little tarnish and minor surface scratches.

This Kay Denning bracelet is 3/4" wide. The five links are enameled white with slightly raised red and blue "cookies". It is hallmarked twice Denning on the reverse. Fold over clasp. No damage to the enameling.

This wonderful 14Kt pink gold antique men's signet ring from the early 20th century set with a 16 X 14 millimeter oval lively blood-stone. The ring is a size 7 3/4 and can be sized.

A rare pair of vintage copper and brass pendants by Ex-pat Ken Beldin, who lived in Tenencingo, Mexico and made jewelry and sculptures from 1940 through the 1960s. Suspended from the original leather cords.

The hourglass shaped pendant measures 2 1/4" high and 1 3/4" at the widest. Depicts an antelope or deer in copper overlay against a verdigris background. Great contrast of textures and colors. The leather cords and connectors measure 12 1/2" on either side...

A heavy vintage 18K yellow gold chain in the elegant "Russian Braid" style. The chain is quite substantial and can be worn alone or with a heavy pendant. Stamped with French 18K guarantee marks.

A fine, modernist sterling silver ring by the California studio jeweler, Gerald Stinn, (1937-2019). His pieces were sold to major museums and are on permanent display at the Smithsonian Museum in D.C.

Quality piece.

A very handsome, heavy 18K yellow gold ring set with a rectangular cushion cut synthetic ruby. The angularity of the setting is particularly attractive. The use of synthetic rubies in the era immediately after World War II is very typical, and this ring would have been expensive. Such stones are often an unattractive, bright orangey-red color. This ruby has a deeper red color modified with a little purple for a very rich look. The stone is well cut, with very good brilliance...

This is a wonderful Alice Caviness pin / brooch. It is made of gold wash over sterling (vermeil) and enamel. The filigree shell has greenish-blue accents. The shell continues outward with orange enamel. The eyes are red (dark orange). It measures 1 1/2" x 1" 1/2". The underside of the turtle is marked ALICE CAVINESS STERLING GERMANY.

Not much is known - if anything at all - about Ars Plata whose signature is found on the Mexican silver and amethyst dangle earrings at hand. Bille Hougart lists an "Art Plat." in his book on Mexican silver hallmarks but I am not sure the two workshops / retailers (?) are the same. This lack of information is part of the field's reality yet it is always exciting to find a name not often encountered...

Gorgeous antique Victorian necklace of graduated matched banded agate onyx beads. The beads are half opaque black and half translucent light brown, with a band of white in the middle. The beads are mid to late 19th century, most likely cut in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. They have tiny facets visible on close inspection, indicating that they were hand cut and finished. They have been professionally restrung, hand knotted in a continuous strand, for security. There are 44 beads...

Carved Shell Cameo set in a silver frame with a gold colored rope twist accent. The frame is marked only 800 in an oval and is most likely Italian. The carving is excellent, with highlights of different colors left in the hair. The frame has a pin closure and a moveable bail so it can be worn as a pin or a pendant. The profile of the woman and mark on the frame suggests Victorian era of 1875 - 1880's. Condition is excellent.

C1770 Silver gilt ring with Glass Tassie cameo portrait of an 18th century gentleman, thought to be young Prince William Henry Duke of Gloucester, younger brother of King George III. Rings set with portrait miniatures of sovereign figures were quite popular and widely distributed. A "Tassie" is a paste or glass copy of a cameo or intaglio...

A wonderfully designed and crafted pair of hanging pave diamond earrings, set with 300 full-cut diamonds, with the approximate total weight of 3.25Ct. The top of the earrings are round half domes with a post in the back. The elongated tear drop shaped bottom parts move, and give the diamonds even more sparkle. The setting is 14Kt yellow gold with openwork in the back. The total length of the earrings is 1 5/8”.
