Fabulous sterling tufa cast bolo by Mission/Hopi Preston Monongye ( 1927-87 ). The central piece features a mythical being holding a staff and carrying what appears to be an abstract bundle that is comprised of ebony, turquoise and bone. A terrific pair of French silver cufflinks, one face of each cufflink designed in a classic knot style, and the other end set with a green chalcedony carved to resemble a golf ball. The cufflinks are very versatile and can be worn with either the silver or the green faces showing. They’re very similar in style to the golf ball cufflinks designed by Hermès. The connectors are marked with French silver hallmarks and with the mark of an unidentified maker.

The amber has a beautiful honey color and an abundance of the highly-prized natural discoid inclusions called “sun spangles”. A striking cuff bracelet by Winifred Mason Chenet, who was an African American woman hand crafting jewelry in Greenwich Village. She reportedly worked with and trained Art Smith, a well respected African American modernist jeweler. This bracelet is made of copper with brass overlays and connections of copper rivets and wire. Measures 5 1/2" around with an opening of 1 3/8" and 1 3/4" wide. Signed with her stylized 'chenet'. Wonderfully hand made work.
