When Frederick W. Davis (1880-1961) designed this most unusual necklace he likely chose this ancient hand carved stone from his Pre-Columbian collection. Bold vintage German silver Art Deco locket and stylized geometrical patterned chain combine to create neck pizazz. The locket opens easily to hold two large pictures. The chain measures approx. 11 3/4"L and the locket measures 2" x 1 1/2" x 1 3/4" wide approx. The bale adds another 3/4" to the locket length. Excellent vintage condition. An interesting vintage 14K yellow gold ring featuring a heart-shaped amethyst in an ornate prong setting with a clustered accent of cultured pearls and another small amethyst at the top. An extremely desirable pair of of Edwardian 14K yellow gold double-sided cufflinks set with reverse-carved Essex crystals depicting American birds, retailed by Abercrombie & Fitch. The faces have beautifully rendered depictions of a ruffed grouse, a sandpiper, a standing mallard duck, and a mallard duck in flight. Circa 1930's - 1940's, this easel frame is the work of Matilde Poulat / Matl. It's entirely hand-wrought and exquisitely crafted, with two beautiful repoussé birds. There is a faceted amethyst along with branch coral and turquoise and coral cabochons. It's very rare to find one of these frames which was made by Matilde Poulat, herself, in this early time frame, and this one pulls out all the stops. Measures 4 1/4" wide, 3 1/2" tall. A fine 19K yellow gold folding ball locket with a capacity for four images. The exterior is decorated with a stippled checkerboard pattern with a belt on either side that holds the sphere closed. When the belts are unlatched, the locket opens accordian-style to reveal the inner frames. These lockets have become increasingly difficult to find. The locket is stamped with Portuguese hallmarks for .800 (19.2K) gold.
