A nicely-detailed late Victorian pin depicting a lion’s head. The open mouth grasps a 10-point old European-cut diamond, while each eye is set with a small cabochon ruby. The head is surrounded by flowing fur that hints at Art Nouveau styling. The design is similar to a tiger’s head brooch that was made by Alling & Co., and probably was made by one of Alling’s Newark competitors. The c-clasp is an old replacement. Tested and guaranteed 14K gold.

Sterling over 18K diamond floral spray brooch from the mid-19th C. This lovely three dimensional brooch has a prong set Old Mine Cut center stone and numerous rose cut diamonds of varying sizes throughout. Brooch measures 2 3/8" long and 3/4" wide (at widest). Each of the matching Meiji-period discs features a Japanese immortal or scholar along with a fearsome dragon.
