Sterling and amethyst quartz hand made post modern cuff bracelet and ring set by Novak, c.1970's. Only the ring is signed "NOVAK 925 N(with arrow)". The cuff is unsigned. The amethysts are bezel set and not faceted. The ring is size 8 1/4 and the band measures 3/8" wide. The cuff has a 2 1/2" diameter and 5/8" wide. A vintage pair of three dimensional sterling silver pierced earrings, each formed from a single bent and flattened sterling wire with a pearl accent by modernist jeweler, Russell Secrest, (1935-2010).
These hand made earrings measures 3/4" at the widest, 5/8" deep and 7/8" tall. Marked Secrest Sterling on the side of both earrings. One earring is easier to read than the other.
They are opposites so frame the face when worn. The clutches are marked sterling.

Unusual wide linked vintage bracelet, each link containing a primitively sculpted little crawling human form. The figures are all different. The links are edged with "blobbed" silver lines and the flat surfaces have been oxidized. Unmarked. Tests as sterling. It has a wearable length of 8 inches. Bracelet is made up of 8 separate links, which are each about 1 5/8 inches wide. The little people stick up about 3/16 inch. Excellent vintage condition.

An unusual pendant by the noted modernist jeweler, Paul Lobel. This pendant, made of a sterling silver 'wishbone' with a dark rusty orange, probably carnelian drop, is a rare design. You can see lots of striations when it is held up to the light.

A very well constructed pair of sterling silver and pearl cufflinks by Jean Lasnier. He was a member of the Metal Arts Guild between 1951-64 with many of the well known studio artisans of the Mid Century Modern jewelry movement. Cufflinks are made from two layers of curved sterling connected at the corners. They have an offset pearl attached to the under layer for a 3D effect. Measure 3/4" square. Toggles swivel. This bracelet is textured on some surfaces and smooth on others for an interesting contrasting effect. Marked Sterling Rosene on the inside. The mark is partially struck. The dramatic focus of this 1970s necklace is a pendant of applied molten sterling silver on a trapezoidal frame. It is set with small jade and onyx cabochons, as well as one moonstone bead. It is suspended from a handmade sterling neckring with a hook and button clasp. The pendant and neckring are marked sterling; there is no maker’s mark. The pendant measures 2 ¼ inches by 1 3/8 inches; the neckring measures about 18 inches around. Gross weight: approximately 52.5 grams
Listed Glendale artist Mary Owens was known for paintings, but she also made jewelry during her career. She died several years ago, and this figural pendant brooch was purchased directly from her estate. It was one of her personal pieces which she made for herself, circa 1950s. Large, at 3" tall. Unsigned but will come with a certificate of authenticity from the City of Glendale's Brand Library, which conducted the sale. Excellent vintage condition.

A mid century modernist pendant by the American studio jeweler, Paul Miller. This piece depicts a large bird constructed of layers of polished sterling with a curved wire overlay. One end becomes the bale.
The pendant measures 3 1/4" long including the bale and 2" at the widest. Marked Sterling and Paul Miller on the back. Has a little tarnish and a few minor surface scratches.
Currently strung on a silky black cord but could be worn on a chain or neck ring.

A striking modernist sterling silver ring from Spain designed by Joachim S'Paliu. Born in Cordoba in the 1940's he became one of the leading mid century modernist jewelers of Spain.
Has a zig zag and curved band of sterling with a raised tumbled brown and black mottled stone. Not sure of the name for the stone.

This stunning pendant, in the late 1960s-70s Brutalist tradition, is composed of silver and set with an impressive sugar-loaf cabochon. This substantial sterling silver bracelet is designed as a classic double-hinged bangle, with eight sides. The modernistic fold-over clasp serves as one hinge, and has the same design as the opposite link. The bracelet bears the mark of Barcelona, Spain, jeweler Puig Doria, which is still producing jewelry of various materials in addition to silver. The bracelet dates to the 1970s and measures ½ inch wide, with an interior circumference of about 7 inches. Weight: 66.3 grams
A well constructed, heavy sterling silver cuff bracelet with a large central bezel set carnelian cabochon. The under layer is thick hammered sterling with a polished sterling overlay.
