Two modernist sterling silver hand wrought brooches by Lore Garrick, (1920-2013) in organic free flowing styles. Lore Garrick made hand crafted jewelry in NYC in the 1950s. Known as 'Mother Lore' because her son became Tamal Krishna Goswami, she made the first pieces of jewelry for the Hare Krishna movement in Los Angeles.

The first brooch is constructed of two layers of sterling with different angles. Measures 3 1/4" long. Has a secure rollover clasp. Marked LORE Sterling...

Circa mid-century, this Margot de Taxco ring has exquisite repoussé silver work with scrolls and tiny beading.

This is Margot's design #5337. The face of the ring measures 1 3/8" x 1", with a band that is adjustable. Current size is 9 1/4.

Sterling and ivory mask pendant necklace, Mexico, c.1968. Signed "MP-17 925 MEX CP(C with letter P inside)", it is in excellent condition. This is a Los Castillo design made by Hilario Lopez who worked for several Tallers through his career(of which one was Margot de Taxco) and he was an accomplished Maestro. The construction is open backed repousse but it is framed in heavy silver making a respectable 80 grams heavy. There is lots of bead work executed on this design and it is in impeccable condition. If you could find an original Los Castillo of this rare design it would cost at least twice what this one costs...

Of hollow construction and graduated thickness, with angular sides. The top surface of the bracelet has been machine-etched in a tight zig-zag pattern. The hinge has a good spring and the bracelet has retained its shape and sits nicely on the wrist. The inner circumference measures 7 inches; the bracelet opens to 1 ½ inches to slide over the hand. It is light and comfortable to wear, with a classic neat look. It has the Italian post-1968 mark for sterling. Weight: 15.6 grams

A vintage triangular sterling silver modernist bracelet from the Jack Boyd studio in San Diego, California. Has flattened corners for an interesting look.

Signed with the conjoined, stylized 'JB' mark.

Measures 2 1/2" in diameter and about 7 3/4" around the inside. Measures 1/4" at the flattened corners. Slips onto my average size wrist easily.

In fine condition with minor scuffs.

Sterling vermeil lucite jelly belly with green rhinestone "Leap Frog" is 2 5/8" long by2 1/4" wide. It is in excellent condition. It is hallmarked sterling and is circa 1940. Lucite jelly bellies were copied from figurals originally done in gold and rock crystal.

Circa mid-century, this belt buckle is collector quality. It's a huge and heavy piece produced by Antonio Pineda, using his "Lascaux" design. Referred to as Lascaux because it is thought that he was inspired from the ancient cave drawings of Lascaux, France. Pineda had a series of pieces with this design, including pendant necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and pin. I've not had this particular buckle before, but it is spectacular. Executed in almost pure 97% silver...

An impressionistic Mexican sterling silver 2-5/8" x 2-1/4" starfish pin c1950s by Beto. This attractive vintage pin features abalone with inlaid malachite/turquoise; it is stamped STERLING HECHO EN MEXICO 925 TAXCO GBC and BETO, and it weighs 9.9 grams. This item is in very good vintage condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, or losses, but there does appear to be a bit of cracking from dryness around the malachite stone on the centre of the brooch...

Impressive in size this vintage Janna Thomas Mexican silver pendant is an example of the "pluma Azteca" technique which incorporates vividly colored bird feathers in sterling jewelry. Very reminiscent of plique-a-jour work, "pluma Azteca" was introduced by the Los Castillo workshop and it is a demanding, difficult process so it was emulated by just a handful of other Taxco maestros. Thomas excelled in it, however, and her pieces are sought after by knowledgeable collectors...

A lovey early vintage Mexican Silver Brooch designed and signed by Hector Aguilar. It features two Acorns along with an oak leaf set on two curving stems. Measures 3" long by 1 3/4: wide and weighs 13.9 grams. Hallmarked 940, HA, Taxco. In good condition with a pin clasp.

A vintage sterling silver necklace or collar by American Modernist jeweler, Ronald Hayes Pearson. Made up of three connected graduated neck rings with hammered texture. They are curved so lay nicely on the collar bone. Connected on each side by a small ring.

Measures about 12" around the inside of the smallest one with an opening of 1 1/2". Can be adjusted. Can be stretched open a little to put on.

Signed Pearson at one end and Sterling on the other...

Figural sterling necklace depicting New Hampshire's "OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN" by Shreve, Crump & Low, a Boston silversmith firm in business since 1869. "The company does no manufacturing, but, has always sold designs made by the finest American craftsmen; some of the designs being created exclusively for them", "American Jewelry Manufacturers" by Dorothy Rainwater. The design is a very beautiful heavy gauge textured silver profile...

These brooches are Alfred Philippe designs of Nenette and Rintintin rag dolls. These are not hallmarked Trifari. They replicate Alfred Philippe's Trifari design pat 136,080 of Aug 3, 1943. They are more than 60 years old.

Dimensions: Nenette is 1 3/8" and is hallmarked "ling". Rintintin is 1 1/2" and is hallmarked "Ster".

Graceful vermeil (gold plated) sterling eagle brooch, accented with clear rhinestones and a red cabochon eye. Nice heavy casting. Click here to see back. The brooch is marked: "TRIFARI" with a crown and "STERLING". The brooch measures 2 3/4 inches wide.

RARE, vintage Georg Jensen Denmark Modernist sterling ring no. 155 designed by Vivianna Torun for Jensen c. 1960. This ring is a size 6 and in fine original condition. It is bold and beautiful, sitting high off the finger, approximately 3/4". The face of the ring is 1" across. Weighing 11 grams, it is signed with the Georg Jensen post 1945 mark, Denmark 925S, Torun 155. Fabulous!
