A very rare and exquisitely carved ivory CICADA NETSUKE, signed, Meiji period, Japan. Excellent condition, no damage or restorations whatsoever. The signature on the bottom is in red on an oval piece of mother of pearl. Details of the cicada's body are incredibly fine and exact. Size: length 5.3 cm x width 1.9 cm x height 1.3 cm. Amedeo Modigliani, Livorno, Italy, 1884- 1920. This beautiful Cariatide is oil pencil on tan paper, apprx 16.5"H by 11.5"W, signed upper left " a Paul Modigliani", Verso original Modigliani Studio card, Gallery Bernard card and original Description label. Condition: paper laid on cardboard, edges fraying and some fading. It is likely that this is a drawing used in Modigliani's studio and that the Paul is Paul Alexander Modigliani’s Physician.

Antique Japanese woodblock print by Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) entitled Snow at Ginkakuji Temple. Snow falls quietly on a two story building. The rocks and trees around the pond are capped with snow and figures stroll by with umbrellas.
