Very good vintage condition

Likely painted for the southern tourist trade between about 1920 and 1950 or so, is this oil on a slice of palmetto wood, roughly oval shape, approximate dimensions 10" by 13", the slab 1" thick, signed at bottom left in the image "A. Donhauser". This locale could be anywhere from Texas through Georgia, given the Spanish Moss on the tree. The palmetto slab is unusual and adds interest. An unusual item. There is a small loss on the tree trunk.

Original gouache and chalk on paper by G. Ralph Smith (USA, Ohio, 1907-2010). Signed "G. Ralph Smith" l.r. Circa 1960. In excellent condition. G. Ralph Smith studied at PAFA, and exhibited extensively there and at the National Academy of Design, etc. One of a number of works by this artist currently available.

Original gouache with three dimensional effects on paper by Jean Signovert (France, 1919-1981). Circa 1960. Identified verso. In excellent condition. 11 1/2" by 9" painting alone, 21" by 18" framed. Jean Signovert was an important French abstract Expressionist.

A circa 1950's watercolor on heavy paper featuring a brick 19th century home on an orderly property including white split rail fencing, and a barn at right. Perhaps this is a gentleman's farm property in the eastern states, anywhere from Virginia through Ohio and up to New England. The artist, WILLIAM NETHERY, signed the watercolor at lower left and wrote "Passing Storm" on the mat at lower left, while also signing the mat again at lower right...

This is a 1981 color poster issued by Tally Richards Gallery of Contemporary Art, Taos, New Mexico, pencil signed at center right (green area) and dedicated "For Debbie" at left, by the famous Native American contemporary artist FRITZ SCHOLDER (1937-2005). Scholder was arguably the best known and influential Native American artist of the second half of the twentieth century...

A very fine mid 20th century neo-impressionist silk screen print of a small village scene, possibly European. The print is an artist proof signed d fritz - we believe, but could be d frity. The foreground tree is spectacular. Condition is very good but is faded somewhat and has a tear in the margin which we hope to fix before selling. Dimension: 29" x 21" sheet

Oil on canvasboard circa 1960 painting of a variety of flowers in a ceramic yellow vase artistically placed on a textile with another ceramic vessel nearby, signed at lower left "Betty Way". The work, which measures 24" by 18", also bears a label on the reverse with the artist's name and address in Springfield, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. To date I have not located a known artist by this name. A Betty Way of Harrisburg, PA was a newspaper circulation manager...

Oil on masonite panel painting of a Texas landscape with oaks and bluebonnet in the spring, 16" by 20", unframed, signed at lower left by artist Nancy McDonald. According to the daughter of the artist, Nancy's paintings were sold in the San Antonio area. She belonged to the River Art Group for many years. McDonald passed away in 2011. The painting is attractive and squarely within the "Bluebonnet School" tradition of Texas art...

A vintage study in charcoal of an infant on its back, 12" by 15" (16" by 19" framed), signed at lower right with what appears as "H Collins", and dated adjacent Sept. 14, 1953. I do not see a listed name that would correspond with this name or variants of it. The study is artistic, reminiscent of timeless Italian Renaissance drawings. There is age toning of the paper and some lighter, whitish areas at lower left, above the infant's left arm, and at lower right.

Drypoint on wove paper print, "La Petite Boudeuse" (translating as "the little sulk/sullen one"), 1905, pencil signed at lower right margin near the blindstamp of Edouard Sagot, Editeur, Paris, and numbered at lower left "No. 18", by famous French cubist painter and printmaker JACQUES VILLON (1875-1963). Villon, one of three brothers, (one of them the famous Marcel Duchamp), worked early on in the style of Degas and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec...

Oil on canvas landscape painting of a traditional home at the edge of a pond in mid summer, 20 1/2" by 17 1/4" (24 1/2" by 21" framed in older gold interesting frame), signed at lower right corner J. D. Prenne or possibly J.De Prenne. I do not see a listing for that name as spelled but will continue to search. The painting is very nicely executed and pleasing to the eye; it's a very relaxing and calming view...

Serigraph (silkscreen) print after a painting by the giant of modern art, GEORGES BRAQUE (1882-1963), 9 3/4" by 32" (an impressive 18 1/4" by 41" framed), signed in the print at lower left and dated there 1920. The title, "The Blue Plums", appears in the wide margin below the mat. Braque needs little introduction, as one of the famous names of modern art who in the early years of the century developed, along with his friend Picasso, the Cubism movement, which changed the art world forever...

Mid twentieth century oil on canvas painting of mallard ducks in flight, signed at lower left "De Marcillac", the measurements 21 1/2" by 43", a several inch wide whitewashed frame available with the painting. This is a beautifully painted work that will be surely appreciated by the sportsman or decoy collector. There is a small bit of work visible on the net by an illustrator going by this name, but I cannot tie the piece to that artist...

French Canal Scene by Fr. Dolreux 1890-1974, Framed Oil on Canvas. 20 x 24". The artist trained in France by his uncle Henri-Aime Duheim (1860-1941) and later traveled to Italy to study art. He showed Art mainly in the south of France.

An ink on paper drawing of a man holding a cigarette, unsigned, 6 3/8 " by 5 3/4" inside the mat (12 1/2" by 10 1/2" simply framed). When I first saw this my thoughts drifted to accomplished ink line drawings by the American master artist Ben Shahn, or, possibly, German Expressionism (Georg Grosz, etc.). ‏This is an intricate aquatint print, 25 3/4" by 29 3/4" (34" by 27 1/4" framed), signed in pencil at lower right by the artist and dated there "60", titled "Jeux d'ete" (Summer Games) at lower center, and numbered 76/210 at lower left, the work by GUILLAUME CORNELIS VAN BEVERLOO, best known by the pseudonym "CORNEILLE" (the French word for "crow").
