Three fine engravings of Mount Vernon, Monticello, and Independence Hall, nicely mounted and framed together vertically. The framed piece measures 16 1/2" by 11". These appear to be the same images that appear on US currency, and the very high quality of the printing (intaglio?) is similar. One wonders if these have been produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, either as printing proofs, or perhaps as official souvenirs to be sold in a gift shop setting...

Major geometric abstract oil on masonite painting, by Joseph Meierhans, circa 1940's. Gold leaf original frame - in excellent condition this work [image] measures app. 27 1/2" X 33 1/2". Meierhans, b. - 1890 in Switzerland, came to the United States in 1917, eventually settling in Bucks County. He studied under A.N.Lindenmuth and J. Sloan. He was a member of the S.Indp.Artists, ASL, Provincetown A.A. and the American Abstract Artists.

William Corasick, b. 1907, studied at Temple University and at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Philadelphia Art Alliance, and exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, National Academy of Design, and the Butler Art Institute. This unique and exciting abstract is painted on paper and clear film. In very good original condition and professionally framed. Image measurements are app. 20" x 20".

A rare opportunity to acquire a fine original drawing (13 1/4" by 10 3/8", and 20 1/2" by 16 1/2" in quality mid-century framing) by the world-famous American writer and painter HENRY VALENTINE MILLER (1891-1980). On the stretcher in pencil is written "Matilija Poppy" and then the artist again wrote her name in longhand. A google search shows a Minerva Smithers born in 1877 in Wisconsin, the woman's residence given in the 1940 census as Hawthorne, in Southern California (very near where this was found)...

This is a superb charcoal on paper drawing laid to an old board, signed at upper right (look carefully to find it, in the final photo) Ernest W. Scanes. The paper measures 17" by 22". I would date the work to the 1930's or 1940's, judging from the excellent WPA regionalism style. Indeed, this greatly resembles a number of "AAA" (Associated American Artists) lithograph prints of the period...
