Edgar Chahine This is an original etching by French artist Edgar Chahine. The title is: "Maree Basse,1930" A great depiction of a day at the beach. The image measures 8 5/8X12 1/2 inches. Pencil signed lower left border.printed on a medium weight wove type paper. Fine use of plate tone in the sky and water.

A vintage study in charcoal of an infant on its back, 12" by 15" (16" by 19" framed), signed at lower right with what appears as "H Collins", and dated adjacent Sept. 14, 1953. I do not see a listed name that would correspond with this name or variants of it. The study is artistic, reminiscent of timeless Italian Renaissance drawings. There is age toning of the paper and some lighter, whitish areas at lower left, above the infant's left arm, and at lower right.

Oil on canvas, 18" by 21 1/4", unframed, signed at lower right "A. Alvarez", the subject a colorful flower stall "La Flor de la Rambla" in an obviously European (Spanish, no doubt) town. The work is in need of a frame but otherwise is ready for display. Presently there is an inner frame remnant but no true frame.

A 1978-dated, oil on board painting of a Mid-Century looking building, apparently under construction, in an urban setting, signed at lower right "JAN BAZANOWSKI". The work, 17" by 23" inside the double mat and 24" by 30" in gold metal frame (no glass) is in excellent condition. Frame has some scratches and mat is soiled and could be replaced. The painting is simply very interesting, and unusual; would work well in a Mid-Century setting...

A superbly painted miniature portrait by the important American miniaturist Anson Dickinson, originally in a heavy wooden frame that was damaged, but now housed under glass in one half of a dag case. Andrew Thomas Schwartz (American, 1867-1942) oil on canvas of a hilly landscape with the morning mist rising off the more distant hills. A few evergreens, probably cedars, sit in the field that appears to be tan with autumn. The only sign of habitation is a low stone wall. A PAIR of early portraits in pastel on paper, of a middle-aged man and woman (about 45 or 50 years of age), the male portrait signed along the lower right edge "E. Yohn 1841".
